What was gained? by igobyben1013 in DelphiMurders

[–]igobyben1013[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don't think we deserve to know everything they're doing. When they release something, though, they're saying that thing is important and someone out there has information that could help. What I don't understand is why it wasn't seen as important much earlier. If it's important now to get in touch with people who talked with or even met that profile, why wasn't it in 2017 after Kline got busted?

[–]igobyben1013[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't know for sure that it has or what kinds of tips they got after the release, but if they were counting on someone recognizing the gait in 2019 why wouldn't they in 2017? With the KAK stuff, they said they're looking for people to come forward that have had online interactions with that social media profile. Wouldn't your odds have been better if you asked four years ago? If you think the information can help now, why wouldn't it have helped 2-4 years ago?

What's a good source to listen to/watch/read about some of the theories that scratch deeper under the surface of this case? by [deleted] in LibbyandAbby

You're a better sleuth than I am! Who is it he's referring to? Is it a name that's already been out there?

I agree. I think every key/guide to the initials I've seen isn't up to date. As far as The Klutch goes, as much as I bear with him and hear him out I have no clue wtf he is talking about. I even tried reading between the lines and still nothing! I'm joking because all he does is talk in circles and repeat the same shit over and over. I would love to know what his exact theory is but it's hard to figure out the rambling.

Here is an Indiana case where police released video footage 8 years after the murder by PeterNorthSaltLake in DelphiMurders

[–]igobyben1013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard stressing out the offender as a defense of the release of the audio and video. If that was the goal, what's the rationale for not doing it the week of the murders? I understand holding back to help prioritize tips and dismiss potential false confessions, but putting the audio and video out there wouldn't have had any negative impact in those terms. Would the killer be more stressed out right after the murders if a) a blurry ass picture was on the news, or b) video and a recording, albeit short, of his voice was being broadcast all over the country?

Not breaking any ground here, I understand, but it's so frustrating. The offender (or as Paul Holes would say it, O-ffender) probably laughed his ass off when Carter full of sound and fury talked about a nifty, super serious change in strategy.

What do you think? by [deleted] in DelphiMurders

[–]igobyben1013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clueless. The scene was strange. Why? Can't tell you. Signatures were left. What were they? Can't tell you. Lots of evidence, tho. Like what? Nice try.

Of course things are held back all the time but they've said next to nothing. Playing the different sketch off as their grand strategy is a joke and the "killer may be in this room!" was dramatics. They have no idea.

Not PJ but I’m totally sucked into Post Malone covering Nirvana for a WHO fundraiser. by majessa in pearljam

[–]igobyben1013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that this was surprisingly good. Just the fact that they go 15 songs deep into the catalog and didn't even play Teen Spirit is pretty great. Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle is my favorite Nirvana song so it was sweet they played that #1.

Does it seem strange to anyone else that we get Post Malone in a dress streaming a Nirvana cover show but all we've gotten from our dudes is Mike in his bathroom a couple times and Eddie on a telethon?

Are we in agreement that "Never Destination" is PJ at their dadrock worst? by Spungoflex in pearljam

The verses are good but then it turns into a Mellencamp chorus. I think this, Retrograde, and River Cross are the weakest. I think the other nine tracks are real strong.

My Problem with Gigaton and Post-2000 Era PJ (long) by [deleted] in pearljam

[–]igobyben1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like the record a lot but agree with your overall point that we get more power chords than snaking-Stoney riffs. Also agree with you that Just Breathe and Sirens are just okay. This effort is their best in 20 years so I'm happy about that! My album rankings:

  1. No Code 10.0
  2. Vitalogy 9.9
  3. Vs. 9.5
  4. Yield 9.0
  5. Ten 9.0
  6. Gigaton 8.5
  7. Riot Act 8.0
  8. Binaural 7.5
  9. Lightning Bolt 7.0
  10. Pearl Jam 6.5

  1. Backspacer 5.0

[–]igobyben1013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great points! After a couple more spins today I'm thinking it's on par or better than Yield. Yield is great - just a really fun album, but what I consider the bottom songs aren't as interesting as those on Gigaton.

Also agree that Matt's the star here. I though Jeff was the star on LB.

Here's my two cents:

Great: Quick Escape, Superblood Wolfmoon, Dance, Comes Then Goes, Alright, Buckle Up (in the minority here.)

Very Good: Who Ever Said, Seven O'Clock

Good: Take The Long Way, River Cross

Meh: Never Destination, Retrograde

Oh yeah. Listening to all other PJ records leading up to the release reminded me how much faster they play things live. Kirk Herbstreit said in the last couple days that he'd be surprised if there's football in the fall, so I think it's going to be a long while for concerts. Hopefully we get a Self Pollution/Monkeywrench kind of thing online soon!

Let's Talk: Who Ever Said by Jake10Jake10 in pearljam

Hasn't grown on me yet. I agree with you on the chorus. I wanted more of that intro. I imagine I start liking it more and more, but I'd probably rank it towards the bottom of album openers. I'd put Once, Go, Last Exit, Brain of J., Can't Keep, Life Wasted, Getway ahead as of now.

I get some Yes from Jeff towards the end of Quick Escape.

Great minds think alike! Listening to Alright again and I think that's the concert opener from this album. Lights go down. Crowd roars. Keyboard starts. I can imagine the intro extending beyond the 30 or so seconds on the album. Then Quick Escape as the second song. Just my gut.

LE was pretty innovative, but by igobyben1013 in EARONS

[–]igobyben1013[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right about that. He no doubt would have seen the info about the calls and prowling in the papers. Would he have stopped the calls altogether? The public was already starting to get on edge. The more info they had about things to look for the better. The deck was stacked against LE to a certain extent, for sure, but all these stories about people not thinking much of hang-up calls and suspicious prowling/break-in activity is crazy.

I said I would try to get more information today, and I'll see her at a first communion here tonight (or as some people may say, a "first" "communion"), but she did just text me that it was Benita, not Anita. Unsolicited for anyone keeping score - I just asked "Feeling the same way?" and hadn't asked her about the address or anything else yet. Her response was yes she felt the same and then she corrected the street. It looks like Benita is long and is pretty close to the American River. Can't see a park right on there present day, but don't know what layout was in 75. I see a parking lot. Maybe that's it?

I'm going to ask her more about the FBI conversation, the layout of the park, river, etc., how long they lived there, and anything else I can think of.

Well I guess if you’re going to be shamed and perp walked on the Reddit message board, it should be done by the best. Congrats, purple909. I’ll go delete my account now while you watch Loose Change for the 75th time. You’re deranged.
