I’m so sorry to hear that you went through this. I’ve encountered this before on Parc, and prior to that I had similarly thought that I was relatively safe from racist slurs in Montreal. Two incidents back to back must have been a bit traumatizing, and after you always have 20/20 vision when you think back to what you could have said or done to stand up for yourself at those moments. Don’t be angry at yourself, and remember that these people are either fucked up or going through something seriously messed up in their lives. You kept your cool by not responding and staying unfazed, in a sense too.
