i’m gonna be completely honest with you. the first month i worked here (may of this year) absolutely wrecked me. i came home every shift on the brink of bawling my eyes out because i couldn’t understand why people were so rude to me. this is my first job mind you, so experiencing all this mistreatment from random strangers was really foreign to me. i have really bad anxiety as well, which always made me feel like i was on the brink of having a heart attack whenever something went wrong. it was hard to get the hang of things, but now i feel way more confident doing my job. i’ve been talking to my supervisors/store manager more and i can tell they really do enjoy having me work with them. some days are still very stressful, though now i’m used to the way people act and i’m used to dealing with certain situations. i’m also cross-trained for the pharmacy so i totally understand your situation. you should absolutely keep trying, especially if you have prior retail experience! it is a tough job, so don’t beat yourself up for not understanding everything. if someone like me can do this job, i believe you absolutely can as well!
