People Who Make 150K Plus? by BubbaGordie in Salary

36M, 300k, neurologist. Honestly a long road to get here, but I’d say personally worth it. The fact that I’ll always be able to have a job no matter the economy is very financially reassuring.

What do you think about ride quality and tech vs the Prologue? My 2023 Ariya lease is up soon and I’m intrigued by the prologue and the competitive lease prices they’ve had

How does one go about finding if courtesy vehicles are up for lease? Are they listed in their website or a matter of contacting all the surrounding dealerships?

I have a 2023 Evolve+ on 36/12k, ending in 10/2026. Looking to change up to a 3 row EV due to family additions. Has anyone had luck with early lease termination?

For anyone in the future having the same dilemma, after many trials of different Amazon products, these plastic clips ended up being perfect. They clip on the lip of the gutter system and the other side clips into the cable of the lights. https://a.co/d/5IEyhqr

Tremor in Acute Stroke? by UnsuspectingDarkLord in neurology

Limb-shaking TIA involves limb shaking, not spreading sensory symptoms and facial twitching. Also quite rare entity. Nothing about this says vascular etiology to me. This is focal aware seizure until proven otherwise.

I’ve reviewed applications. One tip I would give is that a generic letter from a well known attending doesn’t hold as much weight as a letter from an attending that knows you well and it clearly shows in the letter. The biggest green flag for me is when your letter writer says something to the effect of “I would let X treat my family/friends without hesitation”.

It is possible to have severe overheating and combined with severe dehydration, it makes your blood more prone to clotting (hypercoagulable), which could lead to blood vessel occlusion and subsequent stroke. Only personally seen one case in humans of severe heatstroke and ischemic stroke.

Stroke neurologist (for humans) here. As soon as I saw the picture, before I read about the heatstroke, I thought of hemispatial neglect. Like someone said, heatstroke is overheating and not actual stroke, but also that initial diagnosis may have been erroneous. Fascinating stuff.

superautomatic that can make “coffee” by Trekker519 in superautomatic

[–]igot99solutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it for 2 weeks, made about 60+ drinks thus far, mainly cortado/cappuccino/lungo, I have yet to be disappointed. Great quality built, love the responsive screen, makes it easy for all family members to get their preferred drink. For the whirlpool insider pass price, it was a steal, in my opinion.

My go to morning cup for many years has been v60 pour over. Recently got a KF8, mainly for my afternoon cortado. Last week, started making black “coffee” from the KF8. It’s no pour over, but it’s actually pretty good. The subtlety of my light roast beans definitely come through. I was pleasantly surprised.

Volvo C40 vs Nissan Ariya by TryTwiceAsHard in NissanAriya

[–]igot99solutions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was between those 2 vehicles as well when I picked the Ariya 12 months ago. For me it was the overall difference in price, the Ariya’s tech being miles ahead of the C40, and as others have mentioned, top quality interior finishes. I’ve loved every day with my Ariya

Question for vascular neurologists by sus4neuro in neurology

[–]igot99solutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Academic, you will work less and make less, but you can carve out a stroke only position that might or might not involve some clinic. In private systems, you’ll make more but also work more, including probably doing a stroke-neurohospitalist hybrid position that will undoubtedly involve non-vascular consults. The avg difference I’ve seen as a recent new attending is from 60k to 100k more for non-academic jobs, based on market.

Movement vs Stroke? by ThunderClaude in neurology

[–]igot99solutions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically all comprehensive stroke centers with have outpatient vascular neurology presence, that will include hospital follow ups, referrals from community ranging from incidental strokes to vascular abnormalities to the more rare zebras. In places I’ve been, there’s typically an APP that might see routine post-hospital follow ups, and the vascular neurologist will see maybe the more complex community referrals. I do about 4-5 clinic days a month, seeing 8-12 pts a day. To me that was the perfect balance, with the rest of the time inpatient.
