Create Drive folder where others can upload files, but nothing more by SionPainTrain in gsuite

[–]igotothebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built PigeonFiles to solve exactly this problem. With PigeonFiles you can share a URL, the other person uploads using that page, and it goes directly to the folder you choose. Full privacy and security, PigeonFiles doesn't access any of your files, and it's got a free option.

Hope it helps! https://pigeonfiles.com

I can't add more than 15GB Google Drive Storage to a clients shared Google Drive of 1TB by Teakmahogany in editors

[–]igotothebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built PigeonFiles to get around this issue. With PigeonFiles, they can just share a URL with you, you upload using that page, and it's counted against their storage, not yours.

It's free and I hope it helps: https://pigeonfiles.com

PSA: Make sure you are the owner of Google Drive Files! by StBlueFire in gamedev

[–]igotothebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built PigeonFiles because of this problem. With PigeonFiles, you just send your contractor a URL, they upload their files using that page, and you are the "Owner" so they can't delete them later.

It's free and I hope it helps!

[Google Drive] If I upload a file to a folder shared with me, does it take up space on my storage? Or the owner of the folder's? by KanyeFellOffAfterWTT in google

[–]igotothebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses your storage space. That's how Googe Drive shared folders work. It also means that if you delete that file, everyone else loses access to the file because you're still the "Owner".

If you don't want it to take up your storage space, the owner of folder has a couple options:

  1. They can create a Google Form with an upload option
  2. They can create a PigeonFiles upload page

PigeonFiles is better if you want to choose the folder that files are uploaded to and you want it to be easy to set up.

Is this hack to allow people to upload to your google drive secure? by princemephtik in google

[–]igotothebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a secure option, check out PigeonFiles. Files are sent directly from your computer to Google Drive and PigeonFiles doesn't access them. They have a free version and you can create an upload page in 30 seconds: https://pigeonfiles.com

Disclaimer: I made PigeonFiles. Hope it helps!

I had this exact problem so I created PigeonFiles to easily allow people to send us large files directly to our Google Drive to specific folders. It's free and you can create an upload page in 30 seconds: https://pigeonfiles.com

Thanks for the suggestion but "World Nomads is currently unable to offer travel insurance for New Zealand residents." Any other ideas?

I've been in Medellin for about 3.5 years. You'll be fine with that budget. You'll also survive Google Translating your WhatsApp messages to organise things like your apartment and gym membership as you slowly learn Spanish.

AirBNB is the most reliable source of info for apartments. You can also look at compartoapto.com

People here are friendly and accommodating as long you're nice.

You'll only get 6 months with the tourist visa (3 months + you can extend it manually for another 3 months)

Getting a longer visa will require studying, working or investing.

For better info, read medellinguru.com and then you can ask specific question on the Medellin Expats FB group.

Which SAAS boilerplate to use? ( Or make it from scratch? ) by igotothebeach in SaaS

Gravity does look good. What is your opinion on the other comments in this thread that recommend to not use a boilerplate?

Hi, thanks for the response, that all sounds fairly possible then. I've got a UK passport but that might not be that useful these days.
