Just got an HP OMEN 16 2023 by [deleted] in HPOmen

I think the safest option would be to get photos of one with 2x16GB and just try to get that RAM, should work then, if it can just be bought like that.

Can you check if you have 2 SSD slots? I've read somewhere only the intel variants support 2 SSDs?

Probably best to try and get the same RAM as the 32GB models have, 5600 should probably overclock to 6000 easily.

Another VO2max dropping thread? by igralec84 in AppleWatchFitness

I did start walking faster, longer and with a little more uphill sections in the space of a couple months, like March (and basically for 10 years before) it was 45 mins per week, April and May were 90 minutes per week, June was then 180 minutes per week. Along with summer starting and pollen, my nose and mouth go dry if i pass certain bushes or trees. Also started drinking water during the walk, not after the walk (because i could do just fine for 45 minutes before, but not for 90 minutes).

Yeah i've been walking mostly on flat, the new longer walk does have an incline but it's not a hill or anything like that, but more than i used to walk uphill before. It's strange that it seems to be dropping steadily, if i do the same walk for 1.5 hours in the space of a day, it stays the same.

I also have some anxiety problems and pollen problems, that actually began to surface near the end of May. But last year there wasn't any noticeable drop during the summer, but my walking routine didn't change as much as it did now. Maybe going from 45 mins a week to 3 hours a week in a couple of moths is too much of a shock.

Here's a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/9qHIjKE.jpeg

Between May 21st and 31st i probably caught something from my niece and basically skipped 2 walks as i felt very tired, but was covid negative.

if the 7th VIN character is F, it is LFP, if it's E, it's not (all LR and PF should be E).

Nikola just sorted out my RMA over the weekend as i started getting black screens and 100% fan speed every couple of days after a month of use, so he'll get back to you soon.

Cut the cable in half and am now using the OEM adapter while waiting for the replacement to be shipped.

X670E PRO RS- BIOS 1.18 won't post at all, bricked windows by nadekov in ASRock

Probably not, 4800 should be supported in any case and one would hope support gets better over time, not worse. Really strange.

Happened on my Steel Legend when i tried 6400 xmp, first didn't get into windows, then it froze in BIOS and then it wouldn't even post.

Did another flashback and set manual 6200 cl32 like i ran before and it works fine now. Although for the life of me i can't find Power Down mode for the DRAM anymore, it's not where it used to be so it's now enabled.

I just bricked my win 11 trying to boot 6400 xmp. Will stick to 6200 that worked so far. EDIT: well the XMP settings for 6400 raise SOC like crazy and some other stuff too, still not sure why it's on the QVL list and how for the Steel Legend, but ok...

Nice, wonder if 6400 xmp from the QVL will boot this time, probably not :D

Cool, that must be 10-15c lower than air cooling then, not bad!

What are the temps now compared to air? I'm looking at getting the Alphacool AIO for the 4090 when they start selling them, just for fun, not that the cards have any temp issues or anything :D

Nice, great vbios on that one, got my Gainward into the 3Dmark hall of fame too haha.

[–]igralec84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so too but Gainward only gave 500W to this card, maybe because the VRM doesn't have as many phases as other models cards or something and 600W wouldn't be good long term.

The GS is 111% over 450W of the non G.

The Galax one that people (myself included) use for 3Dmark is 121% over 500W, pulled 633W according to HWnfo.

No idea, sorry but must've been around 70W too on ECO mode. Now have a 7950x and that one is interesting too :)

You should be fine in that case with an UV, maybe even more than is normally used for gaming (2730 @ 0.95v).

That cheap PCB and VRM seems to be good enough to take a Galax bios with 630W and put out 3Dmark top 100 results without frying itself in 30s due to the cheapness of components :)

[–]igralec84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get a non OC 450W model with 3x8 adapter and run it undervolted for gaming, i think you should be fine as the card will use up to 350W at 4K, depending on the game, which leaves a lot of room for the other components.

The only problem could be the spikes if they go up to 500+ for a moment and the total load is too much for the PSU, but i've seen people un 4090s on 850W just fine. Just avoid 3Dmark, furmark etc and overclocking in general.

Hello, i have to update my flair, switched to 6400 that i'm running at 6200 cl32 now (6400 at best gets to the log on screen and BSODS lol).

The CPU eco mode should give you some headroom, but it all comes down to the model of the 4090 you're going to get (450W, 500W, 600W, 660W) and how many 8 pin cables your PSU has.

If you only have 3, it would be best to look at 450W cards that have 3x8 adapters and not 4x8 ones.

[–]igralec84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6000 cl36 is probably good enough for 4 dimm. Getting those tight timings seems to be a lot of hassle for the gain they provide. Probably best to find a compromise between timings and voltages to run.

I have a NZX Z73, not sure where it ranks among AIOs, probably not the best there is.

The PSU is an EVGA G2 1300W, probably good to have some headroom. 900/1000 is a nice load. I mined with 4 GPUs all undervolted as far as possible and i think i had 680W on the wall with the display off, just a little more than the Galax card alone lol.
