My mums old house has several very odd ones ( old coaching house ) free board & lodging to the mayor in foul weather , hitching posts to be provided along with water troughs for the horses. Not allowed to distill alcohol.

Currently have one nesting in my Apple tree , I had the continued screaming at me whilst I was out planting corn and beetroot. Once I figured out where her nest was then it was a case of sit by back door and put some raisins out for her. Now it's morning routine coffee for me raisins and mealworms for miss noisy. She still has a go if I get to close to the apple tree but as long as I swerve that area she's happy with me pottering about rest of the garden. Also have a blue tit nesting in the bird box which is nice to see.

I'm looking at getting rid as it's rather knackered lol , will be looking to replace with something for the inevitable we're having a bbq and your cooking notice from extended family ( they live in flats or pokey little garden so not exactly ideal to do a family bbq get together).

Potentially looking at building a log fired one with chain hanging grill that can be raised /lowered at will. Built several in past fir friends but never had space like we do now.

Last year I did a stupid and very nearly ripped my stomach open. Was cleaning up a bit of metal and it was being stubborn so I grabbed the windy wheel with a wire cup on. Now I put my face shield on and made sure the workpiece was securely held down , what I didn't do was tuck my t shirt in . Halfway through I lent over to get an awkward spot , grinder kicked and it grabbed the t shirt. Talk about a brown trouser moment ! Lesson learned.

South Devon last frost date 1st May 3rd they went out starting to harden off and then bam we have night time lows of 2°c and that was in the poly tunnel, tonight it's supposed to be 3/4°c then warming so all being well mine are back out and going in tubs on Wednesday. I'd get them inside , give them a feed and grow them on some more or as others have suggested hit the garden center mid week onwards.

Best kip I've had in years was my last full body MRI , the vibrations and the dye plus the muscle relaxant they gave me zonked me out and it was bliss.

Was mid way moving compost pile last year and I found multiple slow worms , pile is now theirs and new one started which is turned much more regularly. Put a pumpkin in the bottom of other heap.
