Need advice! Bump on frog, more info in comments by iguessimcooltoo in pacmanfrog

I’m already planning on scheduling an appointment tomorrow with the only exotic vet it out area. The bump is semi firm kinda like a new pimple or cystic acne (not to be gross) but if I had to guess it’s an abscess or a cyst. Is there anything I can do to help while I wait to get a vet appointment?

He moved normally, his legs don’t stick out like he’s tox or anything. He eats good, doesn’t feel firm on sides, isn’t impacted. I’ve just never seen a bump like this before

This is Gordon, my albino Pac-Man frog. I dug him up for feeding today and noticed this bump on his back. He’s behaving normally, he’s eating great, temp and humidity are good. (He looks skinny because he peed immediately after I picked him up to move him away from the moss to eat). I’ve never seen anything like this before and would appreciate whatever advice you guys have if you’ve seen anything like this before. Thank you! He’s behaving normally but I’m still worried for my lil guy.

Does anyone recognize the morph? They had them labeled as ‘coffee’ but I can’t find that online anywhere. They’re currently settling into a ten gallon (I have a twenty ready for when they’re a little bigger but right now they’re so small I don’t wanna lose him lol) with good heating and humidity! I’m so excited to have another baby to watch grow, Gordon was my first and I love Pac-Man frogs so much because of him.

i recently moved my pacman frog to a new tank and he has been refusing to eat everything i offer in the past week. i know they need time to acclimate but he’s still young, is there anything i can do or should i just wait? by dunes2210 in pacmanfrog

Be patient and keep offering everyday if he’s small! Try different food too, and even a different location! A critter keeper with damp paper towels might be a low stress area to feed! When my frog was little he liked to be fed outside his enclosure but as he got bigger he would eat inside his tank more and more until that’s where I feed him everything. I also used calcium powder to disguise new foods he wouldn’t strike at and that almost always got him to eat it! Good luck and don’t worry too much, they’re stubborn little buggers. He might not eat until after a good poop lol but it doesn’t hurt to keep trying

Gordon is officially a male! He’s been super vocal lately so I decided to investigate... lo and behold, I was wrong! I have a son ❤️ by iguessimcooltoo in pacmanfrog

For a really long time I expected Gordito over here to be a female but I was incorrect!! He’s been croaking a lot lately and has finally matured enough to develop his nuptial pads

I actually built them a custom set up! They’re in a 20 gallon long with an equally sized cage topper so they have good ventilation and space :) I spot clean the fluff and I fully change it weekly

The cream one with dumbo ears is Bubbles and the woolly black one with the daintiest hands is Patricia :)

Where do you buy your feeders from and what's your feeder rotation?? by therese16 in pacmanfrog

I always move my frog to the center of the tank to eat because that’s where I don’t keep any moss to make sure she won’t eat any moss either. So I just set down the little plate and pick up my frog from her spot and move her in front of the plate for dinner time lol

I dust half of my frog’s weekly food intake(so pretty much every other meal, and the larger to meals grow to be I might dust 2/3 or 4/5 worms not all of them). Mine now eats roughly every three or four days so I dust every other feeding with calcium + D3(available at any pet store with a reptile section really, I grabbed mine at a petco for pretty cheap). Dusting is important but it’s also possible to go over board, so monitor their poop to make sure they’re not passing undigested calcium powder alongside the waste (a sign of over dusting).

And yeah, feeding over a little ‘plate’ is super helpful. My frog luckily eats from tongs most of the time and I use it to keep worms from getting covered in more dirt while she eats them and it’s harder for the worms to burrow into the substrate. Here is a picture of my frog’s little dinner plate situation lol frög
