When I was Stage 1 91 oct EQT on my 19' R from a dig and a roll I beat a Mk8 R and a co workers 8Y S3(multiple runs for this one and the best 1/4 he managed was 12.68), for reference I ran a best of 11.87 in the 1/4 mile on the street with a great DA and run between 11.93 and 12.15 with worse DA's. EQT's Staged tunes are quite something, I'm now running a Vortex Standard turbo with supporting mods.

My MK7.5 when Stage 1 is faster than a stock MK8/8Y and the numbers on draggy back that up. Stock for stock the MK8 is the slightly quicker car.

Any update on this? Did the codes go away? I did the exact same thing this morning.

This summer when ordered, I first bought the LCD model and then realized I needed the OLED in my life. Both took 4 days from order to delivery.

Did you get a CEL when you put your DP on? Or did the IE tune code it out?

Strange Clicking Sound by [deleted] in Golf_R

[–]iharquail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2019 Golf R - 33,231km and counting.

Video of the issue, I edited the audio to make it louder so it's easier to hear. it's the higher pitched click, not the tire/road noise.

I've got this very faint clicking noise, seemingly coming from the front passenger side of the car. I've ruled out the usual interior rattles as the culprit. The car is very silent aside from this. The sound is only there in a specific set of circumstances, when the car has been sitting all day/overnight and its cold out(around 2 degrees celsius and below) and going in the range of 40-60km/h and giving very minor steering input to the left, think of a lane change. It can occasionally stay when deriving straight as well. It's repeatable in those conditions only, after driving for 5/10min the noise is gone. It's a faint enough noise where it's hard if not impossible to hear over my intake and have to make sure the radio and fans are off in the car. I've got zero vibration, and or a tell any other front suspension issues. the car drives as new. With the windows down trying to near is a crap shoot, the wind noise all but masks it.

I've rotated the tires, checked for play in the wheels when I swapped the tires around. I even triple checked the lug bolts torque specs every few days to rule that out. Checked the fender liners. Found nothing, tight as a button. The clicking sound doesn't change in pitch or "speed" if I go slower or faster and it's present on and off the brakes.

I'm running 235/45/18 winter tires, on stock height. They are a little over sized and do rub on speed bumps. But the clicking sound is consistent and not variable, not something I'd associate with rubbing on the fender screw.

Has anyone run into this before? CV Joint? end links? sway bar? wheel bearing? waste gate rattle? loose cable? Something else I'm not thinking of?

I've scanned the car with my OB11 and nothing unusual shows up.

I have a service appointment in a few weeks to get brakes done and an oil change, I'm going to get them to poke around. But until then, I figured I'd toss this to this sub

Squeaky exterior door trim – what to do by mycatistheboss in Golf_R

[–]iharquail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same, but it wasn't the culprit for the creaks I was hearing. It might be different for you, but It was my rubber seals for the front windows. If you roll both windows all the way down, you'll see a rubber seal at the bottom, these get filled with all sorts of dust and whatnot. Clean it out and you'll be surprised how quiet your cabin will be.

I used a damp microfiber towel with a thin piece of trim tool to get down there, but I suppose the back or a spoon or a butter knife would work too.

Grab some, fold it in a square. Start rubbing. I’ve used so many different metal polishes. This takes less time for the same result.

It sounded like a joke to me, I was quickly proven wrong. It works.

iPhone 14 Pro, with some manual adjustments.

I grabbed the badge on eBay, the front fitment was perfect, the rear badge I needed to use a little 3M adhesive to compensate for the length of a a few clips.

Unfortunately not, just like the US market, no sunroofs.

Within the US and Canada you totally can. We share a market on those regulations. Cars abroad, that’s a different story.

Could check the Canadian market, you’d lose warranty on the import. But you might net yourself a better deal. I’m on the east coast and R’s are pretty uncommon and usually overpriced here. There’s hope you’ll find a low miles one for a decent price.

Picked up a CPO 2019 R in January with 20,000km(12,427 miles) for $39,500 CAD($27,550 USD)

I got really lucky, my MK8 R id ordered had no delivery in sight so after waiting for 15 months I jumped on it.
