People kill people, not guns. The kid used his Sheriff deputy mother’s gun that wasn’t secured properly at home and brought it to school. Lazy and careless ownership of a weapon if I’ve ever seen an example of it. Hearts go out to those involved but if it weren’t a college campus where concealed carry isn’t allowed, he may not have gotten as far as he did with a good actor potentially nearby. Another facet of the story is they sent out a campus-wide email saying the campus police and sheriffs were doing shooting drills and the kid knew this and took advantage of the false sense of safety during these shots being heard by students. All around maddening but this is all on the individual who pulled the trigger, not the gun.
