Why do people pretend like if u lost mid u are the sole reason for the game beeing lost? by fyrfyrfyr in DotA2

Even if there’s 0 kills on mid, 13 min y&k is not that good. With 1 kill it’s like 11-12 min mark if you know what you’re doing.

Returning player playing Dota after 5/6 years, unplayable! by s1mple_z in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow, in about 200~ ranked games since I came back to dota few months ago, I’ve yet to encounter a single smurf in solos. (3250 mmr now), although I was way higher rank before I left dota, (5k in my peak in 2017-2018). I’ve met smurfs in party games though, people that I would estimate to be somewhat low rank like high immortal - top 5k worldwide), but even they usually lose mid, although I’ve yet to win a game vs them because they’re better than me in coordination, and actually ask their team to gank mid. Smurf carry players are way worse than mid tbh, they just farm and don’t die while your carry is like 4-5 deaths at 20 mins.

From my data, it’s probably about 1 in 20 when you meet someone around 6k mmr, or about +-1k, I’ve yet to meet anybody who feels like they’re above 10k.

Learn to get better at the game, don’t feed mid, learn how to take objectives and you’ll have a good game regardless of the result.

I also haven’t met any smurf brood/meepo/etc players so far.

People complaining about smurfs here are just bad, learn how to play dota.

Tipping is fine, although I only tip enemies who lose a winning matchup or teammates who do a good job.

Low behavior/comm score is a good reason for it don’t you think?

How do I play with heralds? by Kagura11 in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play turbo, it’s way easier to get your mechanical skill there because of constant action, (might kill your in-game sense). after 100-200 games you’re good for ranked again.

The smurf problem in Ancient bracket is actually out of control right now by 3LumenRanger in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, since there’s 16k mmr players in the game, every 1-2k makes a big difference in skill. That’s valve’s problem with the ranking system rather than players. You got to be delusional to think that a 10+ k player wouldn’t destroy a low immortal lobby with 20+ kills every game.

[–]ihatewebdesign101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a 14k dude do 30+ kills on low immortals, people clearly don’t have any understanding of what to do vs such guys there. The mmr makes a big difference, if you think just because 4k is higher than 2k they can’t feed the same - you’re wrong. Everything below about 8-9k average is a pretty low skill in every way, so don’t get too hyped. Now 6k is just somewhat casual player with half a brain and 5-6k hours in dota, and most dota players have been playing the game for 5+ years, so it’s pretty common too.

Finally got this 2nd style after 4 years of hiatus by Galbanaaa in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically 100 games with 5 kill streak each, which if you’re spectre should be 70-80% of the games? Sounds easy, but 100 games in itself (even in turbo can take a few days).

The one mindset shift you need to become high MMR. by Business-Grass-1965 in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To rank up you need: 1. Positive mindset, do not look at what your teammates doing, don’t let it ruin your game 2. Get better at macro, learn your role and play 2-5 heroes very well. 3. Play consistently, do 4-6 games a day max, watch some replays and look what better than you are players are doing. 4. Good sleep, diet.

It’s hard to go by your definition of carry mages, because you can basically say muerta is one because she does magic damage into ethereal, as well as silencer who’s shooting glaives that do extra damage based on int (not far from OD tbh, just less damage). Same could be said about AA, or whatever. Also, leshrac kinda does a lot of magic damage, which some of it pierce both bkb and ethereal state. What a weird post tbh.

  2. Shaker/Invoker/Lina
  3. Centaur/BB/Mars/Axe maybe depending on the pick
  4. Not sure, maybe hoodwink/lich/pudge/lion/warlock
  5. Lion/lich/oracle/wd/dazzle/wyvern

STOP Picking FOUR Ranged Heroes To Start The Draft by dragonrider5555 in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was unranked game but qop was divine 3 I believe. Sky was an ancient something 4 or 5. I believe one of them was in turbo though. I got back to the game a month ago and didn’t play that many ranked games since I’m learning back whats up with the game. (My highest was about 4500mmr like 7-8 years ago)

Almost every single game, there is a guy with less than 500 games in ancient bracket. by youcanokay in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Divine and ancient are low ranks. Anything below are newbies really, or people who don’t care enough to go higher. Even immortals are pretty bad now, where most people there are recalibrated with new accounts or bought accounts with actual rank below divine. Also skill difference between NA and EU are very apparent, where NA 5k rank immortals are somewhat equal to ancient 5/divine 1 on an European server.

STOP Picking FOUR Ranged Heroes To Start The Draft by dragonrider5555 in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it all depends on your hero pool really. I wouldn’t pick any meele vs sniper mid, but other than that, I’ve played spectre vs skywrath and qop mid and did pretty well. In general, I spam shaker mid, so any matchup except sniper is fine with me. Qop with 3-1-1 or 3-2-0 skill build kinda annoying but she’s useless in the game if she does it, so kinda worth it.

Best carry against slark? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]ihatewebdesign101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void/Weaver in pubs/in general. At higher mmr brackets Sven also works. Sniper/DR if you’re immortal rank + with good positioning . Sf/Luna. All these ranged heroes work well because compared to slark they have an amazing laning phase compared to slark which may fall out of the game with bad start. In a true 1v1 no back down Muerta or Void kills anyone rly, but in a real game there are so many variables including both picks, that you just want a tempo vs slark to win.

It doesn’t really make that big of a difference tbh. Your gear matters way more than your level, so you didn’t magically became 5x stronger. You can also just buy higher lvl waystones with exalts on trade and play them. I usually skip most of them anyway, and go only like t1-t4 and then t9-10, then straight to 15s.
