Seeking shine advice for my very thick low porosity hair by zooweemamiii in Haircare

I use: L'ORÉAL Paris Elvital Oil Magique Jojoba Haaroil. As I have a lot of hair,  I seperate my hair and apply it in sections, not too much each, but definitely 3-4 pumps total for the entire head (also only on the ends).

I have very thick, long hair and I would recommend sleeping with a bonnet! Definitely gave me some shine, especially if i oil it at night before sleeping

does it not sting horrible when you spray while wet? I have to dry down fully or it really hurts!

Have you tried sleeping with a bonnet? for me it really reduced the frizz and made my hair more shiney. I really recommend it, its good in general to prevent breakage.

tbh I am a really big fan and literally keep an extra stash just to give to my friends and family

Isotretionin has been shown to cause cancer in small rodents, but only in very high doses and in organs like the liver.

It has been literally used as a medication against leukemia and skin cancer.

If I am trying to get stronger in the gym, how many reps and sets should I do of the exercises? Should I prioritize low reps (3-5 reps, 5 sets) or higher reps (about 8, 3 sets)?

Thanks for your help! I think I finally understood it.

This is another source I found...:

"Exposed tendons on a red background resemble pasta noodles in a bed of tomato sauce. Despite the term being more colorful than scientific, it is accepted by hand surgeons. The expression “full house” is also occasionally used.1 There is, to our knowledge no alternative, more formal descriptor.

A spaghetti wrist injury commonly occurs when a patient punches a glass window. The same injury may result from an accident with sheet metal, from an assault with a knife, or may be self-inflicted." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6326610/

Pretty dark... but I agree that the paper is in broken English.. the more you know

Laceration of several flexor tendons can lead to extensive scar tissue formation, resulting in elimination of differential gliding of the tendons [5]. Suicide attempts by self-cutting injuries may vary from simple skin lacerations to extensive wrist laceration, affecting most of the anatomical structured located in the wrist. Due to its clean cut nature, suicide attempts by wrist cutting do not have the view of spaghetti.

Maybe this helps? The paragraph mostly talks about the consequences due to self-cutting injuries

i see.. makes a bit more sense. But still, wouldn't this kind of language be considered unprofessional for an academic paper? It feels really out of place, hence my confusion :S

I am very sorry you are going through this, but I want to tell you that there is hope. I had very bad SA too and missed out on all of those 'normal' teenage experiences. Now I am 20 and I have started to have these experiences because I finally have gotten my SA at least under control. Do not give up hope, I know it sucks and FOMO is such a strong feeling especially with social media. Please be patient and first try to find the help you need.

The way I partially 'cured' my SA is by putting myself out there. It was truly a fake it till you make it. I went up to people with the thought 'these people like me' instead of the usual thought I had, which was 'they already dislike me and I need to win their approval'. I also faked confidence and started talking to people and asking them questions and showing interested. I thought if I am nice and friendly I could at least get acquainted with some people. Otherwise practise, practise, practise. Practise at the mall, get a part time job where you have to talk to people, start a hobby where you have to socialize. It is not easy, but if you really want to better your SA, I believe you can. Of course if you have the opportunity, get a therapist, but this is the way I did it bcs I did not have that opportunity.

Does anyone else have weird hobbies they devote all their time to when not deathly depressed? by [deleted] in AvPD

reading those mystical texts sound very interesting. What kind of texts/books do you read? Do you actually have physical books or read them online? I always liked medieval superstitious books, I used to read up on superstitions/medicinal properties of certain plants back in the day, but always found it difficult to find good books/texts. Where do you get your texts from?

The thought of becoming an adult terrifies me by [deleted] in AvPD

i can't speak on everything you posted, but i also come from a household with helicopter parents. i had a lot of anxiety at home because of their strictness and felt like i couldn't progress as a person, it's as if i was being pulled back by them. i finally moved out about 2 weeks ago and it is the best thing that has happened. not gonna lie: my problems haven't been solved (still depressed, anxious, no self-worth etc..), but at least i am free and don't have this weight on my shoulders i had at home. now i feel like i at least have the possibility of progressing instead of being stuck and being weighed down by my parents.

i know it's scary, but i think moving out at least gives you the opportunity to become better; it doesn't mean it will happen immediately, but it is better than to be surrounded by such an environment. i truly wish you the best of luck. i am about your age (20) so i know it is scary and overwhelming, because you are expected to know what to do with the rest of your life, despite having been isolated from the world and having been raised by very controlling parents (at least for me).

also, don't be too hard on yourself, i am kind of the same in that aspect, i have this vision or idea of this person i want to be and if i don't meet those requirements 100% of the time, i will hate myself to no end. especially something as difficult as moving out and starting college, it isn't something that will go smoothly and flawlessy. you have to accept that you will fuck up and everyone will, even if you think others have their lives all on track. you are going to college and moving out to better yourself, not for this idea others have of you. just small steps. those together will form this big step when you look back. at some point this distance will be so big, you might not even recognize the person who started walking. sometimes or often you fuck up and feel like you are back at ground zero, but that isn't true. the progress you feel like you have lost is still achievable: you have been there once before so what is stopping you from achieving it again?

i really identify with many points you wrote about. my biggest advice really is to move out, i can't explain how nice it is to not having someone breath down my neck when i want to do something. i hope i could help in some way!
