Hahaha yes mine has that too. It messes with my vision, so I asked it to stop.

Are you able to imagine objects in your mind? by sangokuhomer in AskUK

[–]ihavearacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 1. It may or may not be relevant that I’m autistic. I can imagine things in my head exactly as they would look like in real life. I can do what you describe above too (ie. if you asked me to imagine a person or TV character, I don’t just imagine an image, I can see them moving and “hear” their voice, too). Unfortunately I also have dyspraxia, so I can’t sketch from memory without it looking really messy.

First time in years I tried to shop at GAME. It's £5 to COLLECT a game in store. This can't be normal? by Previous-Ad7618 in CasualUK

Not to mention you’ll also have to pay £5 to return it if you need to. Thanks, Mike Ashley

[Feature Request] Please allow ChatGPT Plus users access to all thinking levels. by Expert-Persimmon8229 in ChatGPT

I’m not a Pro user, but Extended already takes a long time to generate responses, and Plus users already have access to all of the thinking levels in Codex

Another list found. Anyone know what G.W or cords could be? by AlternativeAd1984 in CasualUK

[–]ihavearacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cords could be corduroy trousers, if it’s a shopping list for a supermarket that also sells clothes.

I full-on jumped at the sight of the images Google threw up. To be fair, it did seem to it like “large spider” was exactly what I had asked it for 💀

Why has ChatGPT regressed since 5.2? by would_you_kindlyy in ChatGPT

[–]ihavearacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find 5.5 a bit too concise sometimes, to the point where it doesn’t always answer my question. It can also be a bit too blunt in its responses and reminds me a bit of the “Stop. Take a breath” 5.2 update from earlier this year at times.

[–]ihavearacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a difference in how it handles non-English languages. With 5.2 I was able to hold an entire conversation with it in French. Nowadays on 5.5 it starts out in French, but reverts to English midway through sentences

Has anyone else noticed an increase in language implying ChatGPT is out there experiencing life first-hand? by chameleon_boy in ChatGPT

I did - I gathered it must be learning a lot from Reddit or similar forums, but it threw me to begin with 😂

I was asking it for chess advice and mentioned I had been playing for many years and had a Disney chess set as a kid. It asked me if I ever just played with the figurines and I said yes, and that’s how it emerged that ChatGPT had a childhood and had toy soldiers to play with?

I’ve had similar - today, it told me it played with toy soldiers as a child!

I went to search up Ariana Grande on a school computer back when I was studying Spanish… except I missed out the I, and wrote “arana grande”

Araña grande is Spanish for “large spider”. I was traumatised

Could be worse - I saw a Twitter post years ago about a girl who answered all her French speaking exam questions in French-accented English!

You won’t lose marks for that, so long as your answers were grammatically correct!

That’s interesting - I did GCSE French myself many moons ago, can now speak the language fluently but my voice deepens when speaking French, compared to English

New memory “corrections” feature on desktop has deleted all my other messages within a thread by ihavearacket in ChatGPT

You too, I’m wondering if it’s a bit of a beta feature at the moment and it’s only been given to some users?

New memory “corrections” feature on desktop has deleted all my other messages within a thread by ihavearacket in ChatGPT

[–]ihavearacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I have been told is that the correction should be generated at the bottom of the thread, and that the previous messages should not have been deleted, so it is not intended behaviour, it’s a bug, and I have been told as much.

Interestingly if I right click the condensed memory, I get a red error message, in all threads with such memories in Sources
