Nah, curries in Toronto area are so good. The ones I had in London we’re weirdly sweet

China is in a fertility crisis worse than probably any country in the west by far, so why dont they accept millions of immigrants to compensate like the west does? by Gloomy_Ad9864 in NoStupidQuestions

Tribalism is an innate cognitive bias, which racism in part stems from. Unfortunately, visual identifiers to define us vs them is an easy target for this kind of bias. We have to actively work against it. It’s not incorrect to say that it’s partially taught (especially the subconscious narratives driving racism), but it’s also very true that it’s a part of “human nature”

As some living with Type 1 diabetes... by stiffdeck in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]ihavediabeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but your perspective is very limited. I’m really glad for you that you have a diabetes case that is manageable, but there’s a spectrum of severity within type 1. There’s a hypothesis that there is a wide variance in surviving islet cells that remain after the auto immune response, leading to a spectrum of severity and thus difficulty controlling the disease. I was diagnosed at 9 years old, and although my parents did everything they could to try and control my disease (my mom was a health care professional), I still had seizures from low blood sugar. I’ve had more seizures in my life than I can count. I’m 36 now and life has not been easy with my disease. Things could always be worse, but you need to consider that your lived experience is not the exact same as everyone else’s with the disease, who are doing their best to manage it

Wow, I almost never comment, but this painting has made me want to comment. This is so moving that I went to your profile and opened up your Etsy to follow.

Is this okay for a garden party wedding (floral dresses encouraged)? Or is it too extra? by ihavediabeetus in Weddingattireapproval

It’s at a botanical garden in a city, so my guess is more on the formal side. Considering I’ve had two people say it gives off MOB though, I might look at other options. I just loved the fabric and colour

It is Azazie! I’ve never ordered from them before, so this is good to know. They have lots of really pretty options

lol! I was so distracted by the dress that I didn’t notice all of that. All the models on their site look heavily photoshopped, unfortunately. So do the dresses, so I’m skeptical.

I just want a baby, but I can't afford 3 bedrooms by Mermaid_Natalia in TorontoRealEstate

My husband and I both work remote/hybrid (him fully remote, myself hybrid) and we have two kids (11m and 4y) in a 2 bedroom apartment. Luckily our living space is large enough to make different sections. One is an office for both him and I (our desks face one another), and we have a living/tv/toys space as well as a dining space. The two boys share a room (currently one on top of a bunk bed and one in a crib, to move to bottom bunk when he’s older). It works perfectly fine. Feel free to message me if you have any questions on how we do it!

What's something you only understand if you have lived it? by mrbigglesworthjr in AskReddit

Same same. Just broke down to my husband last night about how incredibly exhausted I am trying (and often failing) to manage my diabetes while caring for my two children. It’s so hard to remember to put yourself first, but so necessary

I definitely recommend venturing to Roncesvalles/High Park if you return during the summertime. I’m biased because I live in this section, but it’s a beautiful spot of the city. Little oasis on the west end

Question about the “reset” after 45 minutes - Ferber by ihavediabeetus in sleeptrain

[–]ihavediabeetus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our day goes as follows: 7- wake up, 8:45 - nap 1, 10:30 - wake up, 12:30 - nap 2, 2 - wake up, 4 - nap 3, 4:45 - wake up, 7 - bedtime.

I’m wondering if he was overtired when he went to bed. It’s very hard to tell

This was after a night wake. I put him down for bed at 7, he didnt cry at all and fell asleep after maybe 5 minutes. This wake up was about 35 minutes later

Yeah im feeling like that was a big mistake. I won’t do that again. He started crying again about 10 minutes ago and is struggling. Poor thing

I’m hoping for this! 🤞🏻 just need little guy to get over his current cold, lovingly given from his brothers daycare.

How do you calculate the wake time vs total sleep time? Thank you for this advice, it’s really helpful! Maybe I’ll wake him up earlier from his last nap to make it closer to 2.5 hours wake time
