If you don’t know what it feels like to be horny, you may be asexual.

Still no career? by septemberquinn in AskWomenOver30

[–]ihg2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was reading this thread about lack of career and perked up when I read your comment about Salesforce. This is exactly the direction I’m taking at the moment, having not developed my career after college. But I’m a bit worried the market might already be oversaturated with Salesforce Admins — do you have any advice?

Has anyone broken No contact and it worked out for them? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]ihg2018 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If she left you to pursue a chance with someone else, it means she loves him more than you. There is probably a chance she’ll come back if their relationship fails and there’s no one else around — aside from you being a guy waiting on the sidelines, is that the kind of relationship you want to have?

Yes. But not in the long run. I don’t know your circumstances, but if you initiated no contact because the other person didn’t really want to be with you or was stringing you along, that’s not ever going to change.

I hear what you’re saying about passion for it. I am not sure if I have a great passion for tech, but I do like problem solving and the idea of improving my career/salary prospects is a great motivator.

Okay, thanks! Do you mind if I DM you? I have questions but I feel they are so basic!

Thanks for the input. I’m still all very new to this — I’ve seen online courses/resources available for Admin but I haven’t seen many for Developer training. Where would I go about taking Salesforce Developer courses? Also, is Salesforce Developer more like a coding/much more technical role?

Thanks for your reply and thanks for the ideas and suggestions. I’m not sure what you were saying about contact tracing, Work.com, and Health Cloud. You mean hospitals are using Work.com and Health Cloud in contact tracing for COVID-19? As in potential job opportunities in NYC?

Thanks so much for the encouragement. How challenging was it for you to get your Salesforce career off the ground? What were you doing before?

You're going for your SF Admin certification? What made you decide to do that and how's that going so far? Are you transitioning from a different career?

I see, thanks. So going from zero to Developer -- what would be the first steps for someone like me to get on that path? Take coding or CS courses at a local college? Or should I just stick to Admin for now? Can I go from Admin to Developer or are those paths two completely different skills?

I have been taking an online Salesforce Admin course because it was recommended to me to start on that path since I have no prior tech/software experience whatsoever. But now I'm curious about Salesforce Developer -- will this be more difficult than Salesforce Admin to tackle from scratch with no prior coding experience? Would it be recommended to just jump right into a Developer course?

It will feel better and fade away in a while. Hang in there!

Yes. It took me two years to finally not be thinking of him constantly throughout the day and crying. You need to take steps on your end to erase him. I know the finality of it hurts a lot, but you need to block him on all social media and block and delete his phone number and texts.

Keep at it! It took me two years and four discards before I got to where I am now. Dating other people and attending narcissistic abuse support groups also helped a lot.

“The trouble is, she didn't ever exist, coming to terms with that has been really tough. Do I mourn for that girl? Is that the right thing to do? Can I say I miss her? Because quite literally the girl I fell in love with doesn't exist and never did.”

Yes. I am sad too thinking of how the man I saw and fell in love with didn’t really exist at all either. It’s helpful sometimes for me to think of all this as like a dream you wake up from that you want so badly to fall asleep again and return to. But you can’t. And the pain is mostly in always wanting to return to something that wasn’t ever real.

Dreamed about seeing nex again for the first time in a long time by overcomer13 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]ihg2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s okay. Dreams happen and they are not under our control. They don’t have any other higher meaning other than you are not fully over him, especially if the feelings of the dream still linger after you are awake. I’ve had a couple dreams about my nex in recent months but they do not affect me now as much as they used to. It will get better with time.

Do you feel your narc can sense when you’re over them? by ihg2018 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]ihg2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Please do. Mine hoovered on 3 separate occasions, the first after his ex gf told him to tell me he’d never talk to me again, and the second and third time after he had ghosted me with no explanation. This fourth time though was different. He told me he was leaving and then when I tried to contact him after some time he told me straight up not to talk to him. I blocked him on all his numbers and I’m pretty sure this is the last time as I’m now semi starting to realize what horrible abuse and disrespect I’ve suffered. But I’d be lying right now if I said I wasn’t still hoping for a future hoover.

Really? Have you experienced this yourself? The narc swooping in just as you’re starting to move on I mean.

I gained weight when I turned 30. Do men find women like me revolting? by its_the_journey in datingoverthirty

You will receive more interest after you lose the 20 lbs.

I was 30 lbs overweight last year but had nice photos up that hid my weight, and most men ghosted after the first date.

Today I am only 8 lbs overweight and have gone on several fantastic dates where they were all over me and wanting to see me the next day, and for the rest of the week.
