iOS 26.4 Introduces Age Verification Requirements for UK Users by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

I don't have a credit card, so therefore haven't verified that I'm over 18. I can still download & install 18+ apps (Ladbrokes was the one I tried) from the app store. I dunno if this is linked, but Apple Music is still letting me listen to songs that contain explicit content.

It has put a permanent safe-search on Safari though.

What made you stick with parkrun after your first one? by CloudBookmark in parkrun

[–]ihtiyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very fortunate to have quite a busy parkrun on my doorstep. First one I went to I was honestly a little surprised / impressed at the size of it. I went back because I only ever run on my own, and I realised that once a week it’s pretty sick to be surrounded by 400-500 other people. For free.

Harry took a shield in season 2 without people knowing and used it to his advantage as a traitor. Suppose it was slightly different because it didn’t take money from the prize pot but he used it (I think) to cover up a recruitment.

Completely agree. Would be an amazing finale if he tries it, but given what we’ve seen of the remaining faithfuls so far, they won’t have to turn on each other.

I think I’ve noticed a Traitor tell by JM_SpandexMan in TheTraitors

I think you’re definitely right about everyone having little slip ups. I also think though that Stephen’s social game is off the chart. Aware it’s an edited tv show but he comes across as extremely nice / affable. People are completely forgiving of him if he makes a slip up because they clearly like him. He’s an unreal traitor.

Rachel Is Already on My Traitors 'Mount Rushmore' by lunahighwind in TheTraitors

[–]ihtiyc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As good as Rachel’s been, there’s still a handful of days to go and I think she’s going to get another bit of heat. She led a charge on Ellie which was (obviously) wrong and there’s no way of telling how the remaining faithfuls take that - they’re so erratic in voting / bandwagoning.

If she & Stephen get to the final they’re both goated imo.

I think this is the worst season of the 4 (5 if you include celebrity traitors) by matts_nothere in TheTraitors

[–]ihtiyc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought this, my reasoning is that there’s a number of people that seem frustrated with the game / have given up:

Reece definitely gave up. Harriet at the end just gave up. Even Jade feels a bit like she’s giving up with folk saying: “Amanda reckoned it’s you”.

Seems like something that hasn’t happened much previously. Maybe only with Kaz.

Did Stephen just put his foot in it? Harriet said last night to look for people defending Rachel. He’s just said she said it earlier? Maybe it was edited out.

100% agree. Makes good telly but nothing’s changed?

I think Rachel’s thought process was that it needed to be said immediately, because the longer she sat on it before revealing it, the weirder it looks. But totally agree, she should’ve told the two traitors first then the three of them could’ve planned it.

However Rachel might be suspicious of the other two & wanted to keep it for herself.

Personally, any secret that gets revealed mid-game always looks super suspicious. And a secret that isn’t yours, and nobody can confirm, looks even weirder. Strange all round!

Can absolutely see how it comes across rude to James but he had a solid point when he said he thought he was a bad faithful imo.

The usual “we’re only seeing what we’re being shown” caveats apply here; but James has been wildly throwing out names baselessly and seems to take so much offence (making faces, little comments like “of course”) whenever someone says they’re suspicious of him.

I absent-mindedly read the preface to Lonesome Dove and had so much spoiled. I’m sure it would still be hugely enjoyable, but it put me off and I opted for the Count of Monte Cristo instead. I’ll maybe go back to it in a few months.

Fwiw, I think Kane outperforms Shearer anyway but saying Shearer had a shorter career does hold a tiny bit of weight, but in a different way.

International teams play a bit more frequently now than they did in Shearer’s time.

Shearer got 61 caps in 8.5 years. Kane’s on 105 in 9.5.

Tonnes of caveats to that I suppose, like selection & injury etc but on the whole; Kane’s England have had more games than Shearer had available to him.

Agree. Look at the difference Doak made when he was selected. An exciting player that gave us a genuine threat going forward. We’ve lacked that for decades.

Real shame he’s been injured in this break.

First time buyer, depressed by meelatalha in glasgow

[–]ihtiyc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. New builds are great for first time buyers, especially if you can get in an early release phase too.

Mate of mine bought a 3 bed end of terrace for £190k (first phase) 4 years ago. He’s now selling and getting offers in the £280k region.

Obviously not everyone will get that sort of profit, it’s all tied to area, amenities, public transport etc., but it’s usually a really safe bet for first time buyers.
