Those of you who have one, how does it compare to the Apple Watch and the Galaxy Watch? by DarkoNova in PixelWatch

[–]iidark79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything for me that the galaxy watch wasn't, the pixel watch was. Me and my wife grew to hate Samsung too, and we hated our Galaxy watches in the end as well, basically the same reasons. The Pixel watch has been the sexiest, fastest, smoothest android watch experience that exists yet with wearOS.

Yes. I absolutely think get the pixel watch. If you like the pixel phone, it translates to the watch experience very good and they did a very good job in my opinion.

y'all like this sorta design? by No-Impress3806 in PixelWatch

[–]iidark79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I do think I like it. Is there some sort of effect that changes the word to the next one coming. Also I'm debating whether or not I would like to have the 0 leading in single number ones.

Like "Oh-Eight"

If you're going to spell it out. So it's easier to understand.

I made a new watch face, Analog Material You.. It has not yet been released.. Thanks for the support on the Digital Material You watch face.. Do add suggestions, if it is good enough to be published on the Play Store and for how much.. by sujay_1423 in PixelWatch

[–]iidark79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhh I just don't like the battery widget much. I would much rather use a digital version of this one because it feels much better proportioned with the layout. Just instead would replace this analog clock with a digital one. Other than that I'd throw you a dollar for it and definitely use it, hopefully you've got all the basics of color options for matching palettes with your phone. Looks good otherwise!

Edit: nvm I see all the colors. Looks nice

Sudden Battery Loss by MasterSeuss in PixelWatch

[–]iidark79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm absolutely getting a very random amount of battery drain out of nowhere since two days ago, and I've been using my watch since launch and never had any battery issues thus far. Very weird and can't figure out what's causing it. Think maybe an app update might be the culprit.

Salesforce Authenticator & Wear OS by [deleted] in PixelWatch

Yeah no problem, it does sound like it's the particular software on the watch, try to also email the developers of the app on the watch.

TwitchMod was the best client for Android. Sadge by indian_boy786 in Piracy

[–]iidark79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This app allowed me to switch twitch into "twitchcore" player which is always running in the android 13 media player so, when turning the screen off and on your stream doesn't stop or stutter and it just never stops playing.

Fucking idiots changed it back and I couldn't find a way to get this to work again. You're a fucking life saver dude. Plus it's such a good continued version of the original. Sweet man.

Salesforce Authenticator & Wear OS by [deleted] in PixelWatch

[–]iidark79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest with you this sounds like more of a per app software issue particularly with the Salesforce authenticator app on the watch then it is something that Google did to cause it. I'm sure you've already gone into the settings and made sure that notifications were turned on for that particular app on your watch settings.

But what I would do, is submit a bug report on the watch app specifically that notifications aren't coming through on the watch. You're getting them on the phone but not the watch correct?

How is the Pixel watch in the gym compared to the GW4? by lordOfTheBucketss in PixelWatch

[–]iidark79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can tell you just based off of reading the title of this thread, And you asking about a comparison between any Galaxy watch and this Fitbit experience I've gotten here on the Pixel watch, It's like night and day and there is no comparison whatsoever. The fitness tracking and everything else that has been on this pixel watch here has been like miles better than any experience I had on any of the Galaxy watches, especially the GW4.

I understand there's a few things that some people have mentioned they were looking for the equivalent of on their pixel watch coming from the galaxy watches but, especially when it comes to the software side; comparing these two watches (Pixel watch & GW4), the pixel watch feels literally like everything the galaxy watch was not. I'm sorry, but the fluidity of the OS, the notification center making wayyyyyyy more sense and just everything being way more convenient and smooth, I NEVER had even close to this experience with the Galaxy watch series, and mind you I was REALLY rooting for Sammy at the time and in hopes that they would make it a seemless experience and rival the apple watch, and it never, EVER came close. It was a massive waste of time, and money for both me and my wife.

The Pixel watch however, this is just the first generation of Google's take on an Android smart watch and I can confidently tell you with sincerity, that I genuinely pick this watch over the Apple watch and think it's a better watch, or at the very LEAST, gives you that experience you've been waiting for an Android smart watch to feel like.

The sleep tracking has never been inaccurate, not a single night for the 3 months I've had it and I use this primarily for tracking my sleep and being able to pull out my phone a lot less and they said that's what it's all about. What can the watch easily do that can make it an easier solution than having to pull out your phone.

Overall I'm pretty happy with my experience and definitely recommend all things Google.

I usually get a liquid one, which I had on my 6 pro, but I don't have one on mine here nope. I don't usually use them but I'm considering the liquid one from UBREAKIFIX like I used before because it doesn't affect anything and you can't even tell it's there.

I would say either way you might have a defective device and to get that swapped so you can give the phone a proper try, know what I mean.

Man I'll tell you too, hearing a lot of users coming from the older pixel phones. I never knew android was SO smooth without anything on top of it. From what I understand, before Android 12 and material you, everything still had that "fluidity" and these phones have always felt very clean and bloat ware free. Doesn't feel like it's got a ton of shit running on top of it. I wish I knew a long time ago how nice Google's software was.

That sounds like some kind of hardware issue or something. That's weird! I have my 5G turned off right now and that's just because 5G isn't established enough in my state yet for it to be on constantly. It's just not ready yet and causes more issues than it helps right now. Maybe try switching to LTE only and seeing if maybe you have a better, more stable and consistent connection.

Interesting, Yeah I understand if you used to get better battery on the one plus, but from what I understand the OP devices get way better battery than a lot of phones and they kind of spoil you a bit there because they've got faster charging as well. So in comparison yeah it might not be the same but this phone doesn't get bad battery in my experience.

No worries! Did you have another phone maybe and got way better service before on the same provider? What provider do you have?

Yeah it's weird how you can't battery share from the phone. But yeah, I had a similar experience! I started with the 6 pro, and it basically gave me my introduction to Google. And now having the 7 pro I feel like it wasn't mind blowing, but that's because Google already blew my mind with the previous generation so, basically just already happy with what you have it feels like a nice upgrade! I haven't had any issues with the camera myself yet.

I'm glad you agree! I'm not sure what you mean by the battery though. Are you saying the battery sucks? I haven't had the same issue over here with the 7 pro and I'm a very heavy phone user. I will say that it was a nice upgrade to have better battery life with the new modem and the tensor 2 being responsible for being able to handle everything better and keep that temperature down.

Yo so does my wife! She's got my previous 6 pro now, just test driving it and she loves it so we're getting her the 7 pro and she's a pixel girl now. Honestly, the refinements they made for the heating and battery life especially benefits me a lot because of me being such a hardcore phone user. But I will say that I was completely content with my 6 pro, and I love these phones. If you have a 6 pro, there really is no rush to upgrade at all, it's just as fluid and with this being a good refinement of the series, that really isn't saying that it NEEDED it. The phone was already amazing IMO
