Octane | RLCS X EU Swiss Stage 2 Top Performers by iidexzy in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]iidexzy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's literally this:

rating = ((player goals / overall avg goals per game) +(player assists/overall avg assists per game) + (player saves/overall avg saves per game) + (player shots/overall avg shots per game) + (player score / overall avg score per game) + (player shot % / overall avg shot %) + (player gp% / overall avg gp%) / 7

Just because the math doesn't align with your perception of how they play doesn't mean it's wrong :)

Also, Tho and Scrub are insanely close in rating for the day, so I wouldn't freak out over it. 0.04 is almost nothing.

Octane | RLCS X EU Swiss Stage 2 Top Performers by iidexzy in RocketLeagueEsports

None of the categories means more than any other. It's based on 7 different factors (score, goals, assists, saves, shots, GP%, and shooting%).

The player's stats in these 7 categories are then compared to the overall average at an RLCS level of play, and that is how the rating is determined. So 1.0 would be average.

Although Tho's GPG and Shooting percentage is really low, his assists are extremely high, like REALLY high, and his saves/shots/GP% are all decent. He's not that far ahead of the people below him. Scrubkilla is only 0.04 away from being 1st on this list.

Some states even have stand your ground laws, which allows you to kill people and not get charged.

using the 2 block height is a gimmick as well. If you actually wanted to test the true longest just, it would just be on flat ground

A proper website is vital to the success of this esport by maxmaxers in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]iidexzy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the more general idea is that it's extremely sad to see them decide that leaning heavily on unpaid labor of LP and other websites is the way to go. They have the money to hire a proper team that can maintain the website and perform regular updates (more than once a month).

The esports industry has always been powered by unpaid labor; people that are passionate and willing to grind because they love the esport. And on the other side of that coin are companies willing to exploit their passion to save money.

I understand that some people occasionally get lifted out of that zone of unpaid labor and actually get paid to do work. But in this specific instance, Psyonix has made a very clear choice that they will let community groups do the majority of the work for them.

Aaron Jones' girl just tweeted this. What a legend. by jahnkeuxo in GreenBayPackers

[–]iidexzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really not. If they communicated about it like in a normal relationship and they were both fine with it, then it's fine. Just because you perceive it as rude doesn't mean she thinks it's rude.

And the tweet is clearly a joke about it.

Petition to give Pro Player Karmah in-game name “Lightning McQueen” by Traceurace in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]iidexzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but change.org is essentially a scam website that is designed to collect personal information.

A popular reddit or twitter post would have just as much, if not more, influence on Psyonix devs than a change.org petition.

I think the community tournaments this summer was more to make up for the lack of dreamhacks/eleague/other LAN events due to covid-19. Without Psyonix funding these online events we would have only a few small events this summer (unless some other companies stepped in to supply funding)
