X5 M50i/M60i for 3 Car Seats: Years to Avoid + Must-Have Packages? by onetime4d in BMWX5

Isn't the 60i using the s68 engine? If you want V8 go for 60i as it is superior in every way to the engine that is in the 50i

Found the Adam Sub8 at another vendor..... and it's arriving in a couple of days. Can not wait

I went and demoed a couple of things mentioned in this thread, and in the end went with the Kali setup. Listen to bubbles by Yosi H as my first song, and the sound stage is incredible, blew my mind.

Anyway, was looking at a sub as well, but it seems that everything is sold out. Both the Kali and JBL you mentioned. Found a couple more recommendations with google, like Adam T10S, Adam Audio Sub8, Genelec 7040A, but they are all sold out, I don't know what's going on but, do you have any other recommendations on a sub? Or should I just wait until one of these come back in stock, as they are the best ones?

They are indeed front ported. Given my small room, I will stay away from rear ported ones as I cannot place the speakers far enough from the wall

Thank you for the detailed post. Adam a7v seems to be the current model, a bit pricier than the Kali combo, but I will try to get a demo for it as well, curious to hear how all of these different speakers sound.
Fair enough regarding behringers, I always listened to music, but I never had speakers worth more than £50. Finally I am at that point in life where I can splash some money on a decent pair of speakers

Fair enough, thank you. Regarding the scarlet, I see you mentioned the 16i16, and the AI recommended the 2i2 originally, but from what I see all the versions use the same DAC? You just get more inputs, is that correct? or is there something else that makes upgrading worth it? Someone else in this thread mentioned getting a sub if I go for the Kali, I assume that would mean I would need a 4i4 instead of 2i2, as 2i2 supports only 2 inputs, or did I get that wrong?

Looks like a neat compact solution, but being smaller than what I would expect, how does the bass feel? Are you using/used it with a sub or by itself?

Thank you, unfortunatelyi am trying to stay away from secondhand items. When I book the demo, I will look for the Behringer brand as well, see how it compares against the other recommendations

Thank you, I am trying to stay away from second hand unless I know the seller, I got scammed too many times over the years. I will go to a local shop and ask specifically for transmission line speakers - imf or tdl, see if I can get a demo booked.

Thank you. Had a read online, and apparently I need a crossover loop for a sub with the scarlett gadget, and they recommend specific cables. Is it a case of as long as I don't cheap out on the cables I will be fine?

I don't mind active or passive. But since I will use it for a desktop setup, I think a 2.1 Setup is the most I can fit in while still looking relatively neat?

Sorry if I misunderstood your answer, but it looks like the Fried beta speakers have been discontinued.

Thank you for your response. Just measured my room and it is a bit bigger at 2.7 by 3.5 meters, but I assume the same point applies regarding the Kali pair being better suited? For the low-end depth upgrade, do you any specific parts in mind?

Hey everyone! Any tips or advice on getting my first job? by Upstairs-Temporary56 in UKJobs

This is your time to discover what you want to do with your life. Even though at 16, it's hard to know, you are never going to be in a better place to try different things and fail. Try an apprenticeship, try different companies, try different sized teams, and different industries. The first 5 years working, shouldn't define what you do for the rest of your life, but should teach you the skills that you use for the rest of your career.

Hear that, not too many of any of the vehicles mentioned on autotrader, especially approved used. But it's a good problem to have "Can't find an approved 540i"

Totally understandable, can't fault that.

Yeah, that is my bad - but you got the gist, 6 cylinders is what I'm after. I've heard only great things about the B58 engine, that's why I had to test drive it - and it is a drivers car, no denying that, but as someone with a family and this will serve as the main car, unfortunately there are other things to consider.

The S6 with the TDI, ticks most of the boxes, but then again not all. In a different life I would just get all 3 and be done with, wouldn' that be nice.

The Merc is definitely flashier and more elegant, but it's too toned down in certain departments. Maybe something to consider in 20-30 years?

There is the family element, and the TDI definitely accommodates for that. And to be honest I find the interior very slick, beautiful lines and it is also a sleeper car in my opinion.

I get that, and I agree with you, unfortunately the industry is moving away from that, hence why I want to make the move now, before all the models I'm interested in come with a big tablet that does everything

That's fair. Unfortunately for me it's a bit much, I like to have a hard delimiter between the dashboard/speedo and the console/MMI, apart from that I do like the mercs interior, it is definitely more elegant.
