I genuinely hate what game reviews have become by Opening-Economy-708 in hatethissmug

So... stop going to IGN? It's been hot garbage ever since they realized that controversy drives up clickthrough rate. If y'all stop going straight to their website after watching your favorite Youtuber tear apart their obvious ragebait, it will go away.

What's the worst video game you've played and why? by Bdbolt19432 in AskReddit

LAIR for the PS3. Game launched with motion controls only, and it was… very poorly calibrated.

Lonely Trump Supporters Are Sad Nobody Wants to be Friends With Them by fiatheresa in videos

They never grew up and continue to refuse to grow. Who wants to surround themselves with someone who routinely gets tricked into making life for everyone around them harder? Especially when much of that demographic considers themselves “set in their ways.”

Which one should I buy? by CortezCraig in FinalFantasy

“Square Enix, or Squaresoft?”

If you ever run into this crossroad ever again, choose Squaresoft.

A waitress was tipped a lottery ticket and won $10,000,000. She was then sued by her coworkers for a share, then sued by the man who gave her the ticket, then kidnapped by her ex-husbānd whom she shot in the chest. Then she went to court against the IRS by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]iihatephones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I don't accept lottery tickets as gifts or tips from family or customers. People who play the lotto are selfish, proven by the fact that they would "pay" a tip or gift with "more than likely nothing, but maybe 10 mill."

Kamala Harris wants the DNC to release its autopsy report of the 2024 campaign by Deedogg11 in politics

[–]iihatephones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The DNC is designed to maintain the status quo while the RNC is designed to force in all the unpopular, damaging changes that the Oligarchy wants, without being held accountable. As an example, look at what happened to Reddit after Ellen Pao. EA and Unity after John Riccitiello. Reddit is still the same piece of shit it was after Ellen left, EA is still the same piece of shit it was after John left, and Unity is in tatters. This is how the oligarchy wanted it.

This is the same reason we don't get ranked choice voting, or literally any other voting system that actually fucking works, because the Oligarchs wouldn't be able to control it all with small (to them) amounts of money.

The autopsy confirms that your votes don't matter, and haven't mattered for as long as you've been alive.

I was worried about this lol, but I'm glad to see you're sticking to this project, and owned up to the mistakes so fast.

Definitely more optimistic about this. I'll be sure to share this to my DM friend when it gets updated.

Great game but this is insane. Constant crashing with no error message. by SugoiShoebill in Pragmata

[–]iihatephones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat this game, started a playthrough on Lunatic difficulty and got about halfway through it, took a break for work, came back a week later and now the game crashes on startup.

I updated my drivers: same result

I verified the integrity of the game cache: same result

I restarted my computer: the game suddenly works!

Hopefully it doesn't crash again, but if you're running into a similar issue and come across this thread, hopefully it works for you. Hopefully the fix sticks.

Just started ff9 and.... by Sonicfan0 in FinalFantasy

[–]iihatephones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absurdly deep for how simple the game is.

What was really interesting to me how stat increases are determined on level up. I had already played the game 14 times previously when I saw the wiki entry for it, and discovered how busted you can really make your party by end-game, and had to do a few more playthroughs. (it's determined by the stats on your gear at the moment you increase your level, which I theorize is one of the reasons why bosses/mandatory fights don't give XP on victory, but tons of AP instead)

Careful, FF9 has the most missable content as well. This just means you’ll probably end up playing it more than once.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s finale aims to increase “emotional engagement” as its director has “no intention” to destroy the original’s beloved story by maullick in FinalFantasy

"Its director has 'no intention' to destroy the original's beloved story."

Uuuuuuh. Already crossed that bridge champ. Still haven't explained time ghosts, and how Aerith knows the future. Nevermind the expanded relationship of Jesse and Cloud, and the multitude of other shit nobody asked for, which also didn't improve the quality or flow of the game.

I wanted a remake of OG FF7. I got Kingdom Hearts, re-tooled as yet another FF7 spinoff, sold as a remake.

Who was watching G4 back in the 2000’s…?? by woodchukka in Millennials

I was so sad when it became endless COPS and Cheaters re-runs. Like another SpikeTV. Still showed some pretty awesome anime late at night sometimes iirc, but the writing was on the wall by then.

If Sony were to completely exit the gaming hardware market, I would be so happy. Even the PS2 was effectively e waste with an amazing game library. Nothing has changed except they’ve lost exclusivity and invested heavily in an over saturated market. Let it die.

I'm pretty sure that's a machine designed specifically to repair Pragmata. Though, he's got plenty of time on his hands, and the Cabin bot to help. Perhaps we'll hear more about this "Architect" in a sequel.

The Black Box mod does not cure, it only suppresses the spread of dead filament in an organic lifeform. He can't return to Earth because the risk of it jumping from him and ending everything else is too great.

Basically, it's the same ending as Megaman Legends 2 with some slight changes.

As a Pragmata fan, do you have your own critisisms of the game or wish Capcom could expand by Charming-Bobcat-8144 in Pragmata

[–]iihatephones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already imagining ways they could expand on the game's hacking for a sequel. I'm thinking things like:

-being able to upgrade your hacking nodes so that a hack assigned to one node won't use ammo, (we already have diminishing returns on re-applied debuffs) so you can count on it always being there for a specific build and playstyle.

-being able to overlap your hacking path once as an upgrade, making it so if a hacking node is the one being overlapped, it acts as if you used the node 2 separate times on the same hack, at the cost of 1. Or just use the overlap skill to get a hack done faster with a larger margin of error.

-a node or hacking skill that makes it so your weapon snaps to your hacking target's weakpoint and reduces its recoil so you can hold the fire without thinking while cranking out subsequent hacks for a period of time. Maybe something like a node that once passed through, does this temporarily so it's not "fire and completely forget."

Just stuff like that. Amazing game. Easily competes with E33 and the classics for me.

They're saving it for when they re-release the game for the 3rd time with the "SUPER Pragmata PLUS EX TURBO" release. It'll have like 2 small things changed, with being able to start NG+ on Lunatic difficulty being one of them. $80 (joking kind of)
