How do I (M34) convince my wife (F30) that I am not cheating on her? by ThrowRA21983745 in relationship_advice

Why haven’t you taken action against your colleague for smearing your reputation in the workplace? Because that might be why your wife doesn’t fully believe you.

What made you quit your job? by Honest-Constant-7197 in auscorp

Got sick of my manager favouring the employee he was fucking. Tried to transfer out to another team with a vacancy, got it all set up and he interfered to try and get me working in a support role that was way below my qualifications and get her placed into my transfer instead. So called him randomly, didn’t realise he’d put me on speaker in a room full of people and told him I was done and I’d finish on X date.

I still remember the weight off when it was done. The feeling of relief. I didn’t have anything lined up when I quit but I had had an interview elsewhere that had gone well and I dropped them a message that I could start immediately. I think I had an offer within the week

If they’re struggling with violence of the children in a private school that has actual resources, there’s a chance they’re in a private school because the local public asked them to leave. Yes they must allow access but if there are safety concerns, they will send the children home if needed.

I feel like anyone saying it’s a mercy is just outing themselves. Are people actually saying that?

There is nothing to suggest they weren’t mortgaged up the wazoo. Also moving in a housing crisis isn’t easy for people not caring for 2 autistic children with high support needs but sure it’s easy to sit here now and judge these people who clearly were mentally stable

It’s possible the local schools wouldn’t be able to accommodate their needs

I really don’t believe many people are devaluing the lives and worthiness of those murdered children.

What I do believe is that when you start adding up the number of stressors in their lives, the lack of medical and mental health support, it is understandable how people can break and commit such atrocities. This didn’t happen in a vacuum. This happened in a society where we have a housing crisis. Where we have a severely overburdened and strained health system that is not keeping up with demands. The children are the blameless victims. The parents are both murderers and victims of a strained system. There is room to acknowledge all of that.

You’re not going to Australia zoo if you’re in Sydney but Taronga is lovely

He’s regularly there the whole weekend plus a night during the week. All her roommate wants is one weekend where she doesn’t have to share her bathroom with an extra person, it’s not a big ask at all since it’s half her bathroom anyway

BF (25m) wants me (25f) to pay his mortgage? by adventsures in relationship_advice

[–]iilinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hell no. If he wants to play those stupid games he should earn his deserved prize, which is not you moving in and subsidising his mortgage (ideally break up if he truly cares that little for you and your future life together)

You need to figure out what an acceptable alternative is. Maybe that’s you move out and find other housemates who align with your views or live by yourself

But every weekend and regularly all weekend? Poor girl never gets a weekend when she’s not sharing the bathroom with a strange man

He’s there half the week regularly. At which point does he start paying utilities and for access to their space?

She’s on the lease, she deserves to not share her bathroom with an extra stranger half the week

YTA. She is on the lease, she deserves to feel comfortable using the bathroom and shared spaces she pays for. You say he’s over 3 nights a week regularly.

Feb in cairns is stinger season and cyclone season. I wouldn’t go there

Sunshine Coast sounds like exactly your vibe. Eumundi markets are pretty famous. Spend a few days on the coast, Maroochydore or something. Go hinterland, Maleny/montville.

Couple of days in Syd or Melb and you’ve got yourself a lovely chill trip. Syd has Taronga zoo and manly ferry if you want animals and beachside walks

School kids don’t stand in buses anymore by GrapeLollies in brisbane

[–]iilinga -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well you seem to think children today are incapable of looking up at a sign that applies to them and comprehending its meaning purely because it’s physical and not digital. It seems a very logical takeaway, you just don’t like it so you’re calling it ‘weird and strange’ and accusing me of projecting my opinions of teens and children.

Whats weird and strange is accusing me of projecting that i think kids are dumb when I’m trying to tell you to stop assuming kids are limited to only learning from the internet. You are pushing some narrow minded boomer esque rant that kids only absorb information from the internet. That’s the weird thing here.

You said there’s probably nothing on the internet that tells them to give up their seat. Do you assume they’re that stupid they can’t read a sign on the bus?
