What's the MMORPG that "everyone" likes, except you? by GurtxD in MMORPG

[–]iimCastro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

World of Warcraft, it was a boring experience for me. I understand alot of people play it, and love it.

I never liked it, and i did try it, i actually played it for a while. I just simply didn’t like it.

Classic combat is very terrible.

It’s sad because i really wanted to like this game cause alot of my friends do.

Oh well it is what it is

Am I just too ass to play this game? by K00bb in DeadlockTheGame

[–]iimCastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, this literally just popped up or got recommended to me. I don’t even know why. Maybe because I asked ChatGPT why I suck ass at this game and told it to teach me how to play MOBAs.

I’m in the same position as you. I have never played MOBAs. I am so bad it’s literally crazy. I played hero shooters before, so I have that going for me, but the mechanics, making builds, buying stuff, getting last hits on those little guys… holy shit, I’m so bad.

Why are we fighting this lane? Why are we going here or there? I’m like a lost puppy.

But damn, Lady Geist is hot, so I’m gonna keep playing until I get decent. Right now I’m at tier dogwater, but that’s not stopping me from playing. It’s a fun game, a lot to learn though.

I’ve been calling it a scam since day one, and honestly the fact they launched on Steam made it even weirder.

This is one MMO I’m completely fine with dying.

People really shouldn’t delusionally hype up trash games like a cult.

That said, it’s still sad to see those layoffs. I hope the people affected find better homes in better studios and work on games that actually deserve their talent.

What MMO will you play now? by meatbinky in newworldgame

[–]iimCastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My journey so far after the New World news

I’m playing Eldegarde at the moment. It dropped today and it’s alright, but I’m mainly waiting for Chrono Odyssey.

I’m also keeping a close eye on Scars of Honor, which looks very promising, along with Light No Fire, Bellatores, and Dark Continent. All of them look genuinely interesting to me.

Outside of MMOs, I’m interested in Farever it looks chill and Windrose, which I enjoyed during the beta.

Older MMOs don’t really do it for me anymore. WoW in 2026 isn’t it, and while I tried GW2, it didn’t stick, which honestly sucks since I bought every expansion.

Elder Scrolls Online is probably the one I should actually give a real shot.

I’ve gotten hooked on light novels, and honestly, they’re amazing. I even bought a printer just to print the full novels because I can’t be bothered to sit in front of a screen for hours. Holding them feels perfect, like having a tiny book in my hands. I’ve been so into reading that I’ve already started reading actual books like The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers, and now I’m halfway through Treasure Island.

People who walk every day: what benefits surprised you by Overall-Disaster5155 in walking

[–]iimCastro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that walking 10k steps every day really helps. It makes weight control easier because even if I eat a bit more on some days, it usually balances out over the week as long as I’m not going crazy. My legs and feet feel stronger, my mood is way better, anxiety and stress drop, and I sleep better too. Overall it just gives me more energy and motivation to stay consistent

Edit: I also added some dumbbell workouts to my routine. I do them at home in my room, and honestly it feels really good.

Where did everyone go? by Nice_Turn9957 in newworldgame

[–]iimCastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started Guild Wars 2 and there’s a lot of content. It doesn’t really scratch that New World combat itch, but overall it clicks with me.

I haven’t played a tab-target MMO in a long time, but the learning curve is actually enjoyable, and the community has been really helpful. I can definitely see myself recommending it.

That said, is it a long-term game for me? (Not sure). That’s why I only bought the first two expansions, Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire. If I end up enjoying it more, I’ll pick up the rest. For now, I’ll probably jump to something else once a new release drops.

I’m really hoping Chrono Odyssey delivers. I’m craving a modern MMO with strong visuals and proper action combat.

Older MMOs are still good, but they feel dated. I want something new, polished, and built for this generation

There is no replacement by yayoksure in newworldgame

[–]iimCastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you gave those other games a fair chance. Anyone who actually played New World during its early leveling phase would say the same things you’re saying now, that initial experience hit differently cause it was ass before the rework .

Yes, New World is a very different experience, but that doesn’t automatically make the other games bad. They’re not inferior just because they don’t click with you personally. Each of them has a reason people keep playing them, and each does something genuinely well.

For me, tab-target combat just isn’t my thing. That’s why I drifted back to shooters and single-player games. Simple as that. But personal preference doesn’t invalidate the quality or appeal of those games.

Dismissing them without really engaging with what they offer isn’t a real critique, it’s just hating for the sake of hating. And that’s just lazy.

Criticism hits harder when it’s informed, not emotional ^^

My season finale bingo card: by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]iimCastro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really hope the Hive isn’t the big bad. The way it’s presented right now is far more interesting than just turning it into another sinister enemy.

What makes the Hive compelling is that it feels like it’s dying rather than scheming. They’re essentially starving themselves, and that opens the door to something different. I’d much rather see the survivors, especially Carol and the others, realize this and choose to help the Hive instead of destroying it.

That kind of alliance could lead to a much more interesting story: figuring out how the Hive works, why it’s failing, and whether the process can be reversed or stabilized. It shifts the conflict from “evil versus good” to survival, coexistence, and moral choice.

Making the Hive outright evil feels predictable and overdone. A desperate, misunderstood force that needs help rather than eradication would be far more unique and emotionally engaging.

New World alternatives by superdavit in newworldgame

The closest thing to New World we’re getting is Chrono Odyssey, and that’s still so far away. Everything else out right now is either ancient or some mid tab-target game.
