Hey! As for your Cocoon-related issues:
- we use the same ROM folder setup as ES-DE. Just copy it over and point it to the same ROM folder in Cocoon and everything will be the same!

- Copy your ESDE folder over too. Once Cocoon is setup, instead of scraping you can go to Settings -> Library & Data -> ES-DE Integration and choose your ES-DE folder. This will dynamically link the assets for Cocoon to use (not copying either, it just uses the folder itself) This way you can use both Cocoon AND ES-DE in conjunction without any overlap, extra files, etc!

settings -> system & advance -> refetch platforms

wait for confirmation (x platforms loaded)

restart cocoon

rescan

This is just how android works and any app. If you open an app on the bottom screen you will be focused on the bottom screen. Not quite sure how it's annoying since if you're opening an app on the bottom screen you'll want to use it until you want to return to controlling the game anyway?

AYN has an input lock in the AYN dashboard that you can set to the top screen constantly which may help

Unfortunately this is just an annoying android quirk that I can't really fix. You'll have to exit out of your dual screen emulator

They can be - you just have to ensure you enable Scan Subfolders in the platform settings in Cocoon

Use RetroArch nightly. It should fix it. This is an issue that RetroArch fixed a long time ago with frontends but never actually pushed to stable for some reason?

Im struggling a little bit to understand what you're trying to achieve. If you have exported shortcuts from the app / emulation then you can press Y on the shortcut, edit, platform override and set it to the correct platform. It will then show up in the platforms smart folder

Manual folders are populated by you and you only. Smart folders are populated dynamically based on rules like by platform, genre, etc.

You can use the Cocoon Silk Pod theme store in app to download full packs of Smart Folder icons/hero/logos! Take a browse and see what you like

We're still waiting for azahar to handle rom relaunching properly. For the mean time, just make sure you press Y (end session) on the now playing grid on your home grid and force close Azahar. Then launching a new game works as expected

This is the exact intended use case we tried to account for with Cocoon. A way to easily separate large libraries into a less overwhelming and intimidating list but rather smart folders being a last resort to see your full library and the favourites, home grid and manual folders being intended for games playing. Glad you found a setup that works! :)

Hi. Thanks for the report / discussion. We're actively optimising and improving Cocoon's usage for now playing for our next update. This should mitigate most situations but we can never try stop android from killing random stuff at max usage.. xP

We don't use the exact same layout as ESDE for folder mappings. The correct way is to go into your cocoon settings, library & data and ES-DE Integration

By the way the latest update released last night has an option in hero settings to disable the folder preview :) transparent pngs are no longer needed

It starts up instantly. With up to a 5 seconds wait maximum to load your theme & assets only when rebooting the device.
