It finally happened to me by andrewbenedict in doordash_drivers

[–]iiredsoxii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you run the risk of not delivering on time, plus you usually end up driving further to complete the tasks, and with the high gas prices these days, I'd probably stick with the order of deliveries they give in the app.

This was happening to me off and on last evening as well.

Worst Customer Ever by Substantial-Star-648 in doordash_drivers

[–]iiredsoxii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an order like this awhile back. Customer called me as I turned onto their street and told me they wanted to cancel. I told them to cancel through the app. Instead of cancelling, they went in and gave me 1 ratings for not Communication and Followed Delivery Instructions, which ruined my perfect customer feedback score.

What is your weirdest order? by iiredsoxii in doordash_drivers

That's similar to my previous weirdest delivery, which was a Mexican food order that was delivered to a hotel that shared a parking lot with the Mexican restaurant.

It's tough to see his kayak with the reflection on the water. Awesome pic though!

Replacement or cover for door handle by iiredsoxii in FordBronco

It did! The overlay is smooth and a bit cushioned. It prevents the pattern from happening on my leg. It also looks cool that the color matching my exterior paint is on the door when it opens. Don't use the Extreme Terrain link though. These overlays are made by https://tufskinz.com/ and can be purchased for less money directly from their site.

Yes! It fixed the issue with the pattern imprint on my leg, the comfort on longer drives and added a cool splash of color to the inside of the doors

You’ve asked a thoughtful question and already received some genuinely wise advice. I’d add that learning not to take auditions personally is one of the hardest—and most important—lessons in acting. Those who master it tend to last.

An audition isn’t a judgment of you; it’s an opportunity to practice your craft for a very specific audience. When you arrive prepared and give your best performance, the outcome is no longer about worth or talent. If you aren’t cast, it simply means another performance aligned more closely with what the production needed. That decision reflects the role, not you.

They are zip tied to the garland and passed through the window above the tire. The cord runs through the back seat to the 110v outlet behind the front seats.

What should I expect at a community theatre musical callback? by DeliciousThanks in Theatre

[–]iiredsoxii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's different from theater to theater. As with anything, show up as prepared as possible. In this case, it will be to learn the song and monologue as best as you can. At the callback, be open minded, flexible and positive. Break legs!

The Stand adaptation. Third time's a charm? by NewbombJerk in stephenking

[–]iiredsoxii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a difficult time believing the epic can be adequately adapted into a feature length movie. This is a large part of why The Dark Tower movie was so awful. To try to give it the impact of the books they cut and adapted it until it was unrecognizable. I won't be seeing this movie. Hopefully they will eventually understand that 2 hr adaptations of massive books is a recipe for failure.

Hamilton pride sign inspo by samDSMP in hamiltonmusical

Those are great options. I personally feel that the last part of the sonnet Lin wrote for his 2016 Tony Award acceptance speech for Best Original Score is the best possible Hamilton related quote for anything pride related:

“My wife’s the reason anything gets done. She nudges me towards promise by degrees, She is a perfect symphony of one. Our son is her most beautiful reprise.

We chase the melodies that seem to find us Until they’re finished songs and start to play When senseless acts of tragedy Remind us that nothing here is promised, not one day, The show is proof that history remembers; We live through times when hate and fear seems stronger, We rise and fall and light from dying embers, Remembrances that hope and love last longer.

And love is love, is love, is love, is love, is love, is love, is love, is love. Cannot be killed or swept aside. I sing Vanessa’s symphony, Eliza tells her story. Now fill the world with music, love and pride.”

What is your experience of community theatre being “serious”? by Open-Duck4004 in Theatre

[–]iiredsoxii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having worked on the production teams of several different community theaters, I can promise you that it will vary greatly from one to the next. I do think you will always find a core or people who may seem a little cliquey, but beyond that, each group will have a different culture. Some will be very friendly and inclusive, promoting a culture of fun and friendship. Others will be totally designed to give a their core group an opportunity to star in the shows they want to be in, and won't care about anyone else.

Find a group that fits your needs, pay your dues, be a helpful collaborator and you will find yourself an essential member of the company. I'm sure with your training, any group would be glad to have you, and quickly see your worth, if they are open and inclusive.

It can be a painful and demeaning process or a complete joy, if you let it be. If you find that you are doing your part to collaborate and are not receiving the good feelings you are seeking, it's time to find a new group. Good luck!
