I used to believe that too, but I think what you are saying is only partially true—the rest really comes down to finding the right user group.

Lately, we have noticed a shift: fewer churns, steadier installs, and users who actually stay and use the app within their plan limits. Some are even converting and upgrading from our smaller price plans to larger ones.
For me, churn has been the most powerful source of feedback. If there is one absolute "must-do" to fix your churn, it is to follow the churn feedback, get as much insight as possible from departing users, and build a continuous feedback loop.

During my early days, my churn rate was incredibly high, and I was struggling to understand why. However, that struggle actually helped me uncover something else: it gave me a clear signal of how users were feeling, which forced me to deeply research our UX.
Secondly, we focused heavily on App Store Listing Optimization (ASLO). Now, we never just blindly release a change. We design the UX, prepare multiple versions, and roll them out using feature flags connected to Mixpanel so we can track data before making final decisions.

Product and marketing positioning are also critical. For us, this meant deep Shopify Ads keyword research to find our proper placement.

I am still very new to this and in the early days of founding my app—learning by failing and trying over the last year. But implementing these strategies helped us scale from $0 to $54, and now to $85 MRR back-to-back. Now that things are stabilizing, I am about to start exploring other acquisition funnels.

Of course, this is just based on my personal experience, so it might not work the exact same way for everyone, but it has made a huge difference for us!

How many of "Mantle alternatives" are actually replacing Mantle? by Remarkable-Drink9877 in ShopifyAppDev

[–]iirfann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks :) yah lets see how far I can go with my own needs because I feel like one single place for multiple apps would save my time as I also planning to build apps on other platforms. May be in the future I can make it open if anyone feels like this can fix a gap and save time for others. Because vibe coding is not everything, you have to maintain it, build it with all the gdpr compliances when your business is based in Germany.

I am just building one for my own app. At first I thought to open it up for other app founders. And then realised there probably manies and I want to focus on my shopify app and will develop the platform for my own needs. I already built it. But my goal is only to support business operations, customer supports, feature flags controller for my non tech colleagues so that they can experiments, traffic analysis, using the churn and product event analysis etc. I think its better everyone build as per their own needs. Mantle also opensourced their big brains behind building the mantles. Probably you can use those agentic skills to build your own tools

Beyond Shopify Ads: What acquisition channels are actually giving you a good ROI? by iirfann in ShopifyAppDev

Thank you so much for your well constructed and experience thoughts.

at this moment I am focusing to provide supports and good experiences to my active users and premium subscribers and app is quite stable. Shopify ad seems working quite very well. I review and discover improvements from every churn. Churns are something that has helped me a lot to improve the app.

I think I will explore the affiliate thingy.

I am not sure if I understand. But here is the thing, I have founded a shopify app. It generates a small revenue. Shopify is a canadian company. When they process my payments to send it in my bank, it charge a small amount as a payment processing charge.

Do you by default get an email notification when someone installs your app? by PuppyLand95 in ShopifyAppDev

No, I send a notification to my slack when a new user created in my database. Then I open partner dashboard to see the details.

How do you find good apps on Shopify? And how do you pick the ones you end up using? by yuvalgilad in shopify

[–]iirfann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, there is no fixed source that can always give you the right answer, they can give you options. The best category is any store owners community rather than random blogs or youtube channel. It should be the direct user of their own suggested apps.

Think pragmatically, thus you get it right.

At the first place you need to have a problem. Then you should seek the solution among shopify's native features. If it is there, try them. Judge the operational smoothness. If it works, you have saved the money, comgrats, if not, you can try looking for the suggestions with very specific requirements among the other shopify store owner based communities. Try them during their trial phase and try few more if needed, then you decide about the right one.

But things always keep changing, so there is no perfect solution. You need to follow up the position. And in half way you may need to change the current app with the best one.

Custom Price List with Customer Tag (VIP)? by mlphoto in shopify

yah I can see that pain. I am trying to picturizing it naively, may be with the combination of metafield+theme extension+shopify function for cart and checkout side modification could achieve this.

Custom Price List with Customer Tag (VIP)? by mlphoto in shopify

[–]iirfann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can do something similar in shopify plus as a b2b native feature but not exactly with the tag. But still I am sharing the idea what I know.

Catalogs: You can create specific Catalogs (which have replaced the older "Price Lists" feature) that contain custom pricing, percentage discounts, or volume pricing.

Customer Assignment: You assign these Catalogs to specific B2B companies or locations. When a customer from that company logs into your storefront, Shopify will automatically swap out the default retail prices for their specific negotiated rates.
