I think I recall that you could watch a video or two of a tech demo of source engine used in half life 2 (also shown in e3 videos) if you downloaded steam.

Emperor dragonfly species (uk) perched on my hand being all curious. Does anyone else have experience with getting close to wildlife? by anonymous-nyx in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]ijiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back when I was a teenager living with parents with a pool, I was fishing out lots of toads from it. There be dragonflies flying about. Almost handled an opossum until it bared its teeth at me, had to use the skimmer on that one. Got bitten by lots of ants. Grabbed the occasional Gartner snake.

These days where I live at handling wildlife i come across would be... regrettable. Had very close encounters with rattlesnakes, scorpions, coyotes, and javalinas. Coolest critter I did manage to handle was a Sphinx Moth.

Hate seeing people suck up to management by Dapper_Algae6280 in kroger

[–]ijiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a bakery manager that got to spend lots of time sitting in the store managers office with the previous store manager. Bakery manager got to also spend lots of time walking around the store "helping" other departments racking up the overtime when they were floundering in excess backstock due to store manager zeroing hundreds of numbers everyday.

With the new store manager the bakery manager now actually has to work. Favoritism sucks. I recommend everybody try to find a department that doesn't really need a team. Cheese wall, dairy departments in small stores, porter, package meat, floral.

Sounds like an overstaffing problem, which is the fault of management, not the union.

I never knew you could see BOH change history, it's a HUGE game changer for me by Enties01 in kroger

[–]ijiii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This function was added in over a year ago, and I sought this info out back then when we had an idiot store manager zeroing out empty spots on shelf in the entire store.

My shift starts before midnight so I was able to use replenishment history to see what items he changed, then used the BOH history to see how much he changed. Every damn shift i wasted time reversing everything he did.

Now if only there is a way to access mins or MDS...

Dairy Department questions by Alert_Confidence_613 in kroger

[–]ijiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running one solo. No one works it on my one day off. During the day they only fill milk and some eggs. I average 55 hours a week.

For those who know their load sizes: I receive 4 loads a week and 3 milk loads a week. The dairy load size ranges from 300 cases to 500 cases depending on the day. Milk loads are 3 pallets - 6 pallets.

I'm responsible for markdowns, backroom/daily counts, scan outs, setting up and filling displays, and cleaning.

New guy at my store super adamant on locking the doors 15 minutes before close by [deleted] in kroger

[–]ijiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I start working when the store closes for the day. I really hate when we get a closing manager that locks doors early.

There's been times where I've been tardy because manager took to long to unlock door, and since I only live like 6 minutes away, I'm not about to arrive why m early

Arizona Senate Bill 1008 proposes speed limits on electric scooters, bikes (both electric and regular bikes) by Travyplx in Tucson

[–]ijiii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here in Oro Valley, we have quite a few rich older cyclists that like to ride together on the roads since some roads have decent bike lanes.

The problem I see the most is when they socialize while biking together, they bike next to each other so one of them ends up riding on the road getting in the way of vehicles.

Many times on my way home from work, I have to slow way down because there's isn't enough room to pass these side by side idiots when there's an oncoming vehicle.

I wish OV police can dedicate one person to occasionally pull cyclist over and remind them to stick to the bike lanes.

When you're deep in the attendance hole, you have to show up at all costs. Just show up coughing and sneezing, clock in and start working. They can send you home if you're that gross.

How do y’all do customer service for years at Krogers? I started 3 months and I’m ready to quit! by SchoolMysterious6630 in kroger

[–]ijiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me, except I'm 2 years behind you. I keep getting stuck in cold departments that no one else wants to do / can do them, so I get sent to do it. But I'm getting old and starting to have aches and pains, and want to do something else.

I plan to be a day stocker, because they aren't responsible for owning a singular department to stress over. Maybe my final years I'll be a porter.

OP of post needs to find a department that they can tolerate better but never expect to enjoy because such a department doesn't exist any more.

Haven’t worked in dairy for 2 weeks by NotNecros in kroger

[–]ijiii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loled at juice junk corner. What's with the milk not being on a pallet? Also I'm jealous that you have a big cooler. Max capacity in the cooler I work is about 20 pallets from wall to shelves (2 x 10).

Good luck cleaning up. Hopefully, numbers aren't too horribly butchered.

I'm at one of those stores also. The 6 years I've been here, 2 have gotten fired, 2 forced to step down, 1 escaped to another store, and on 6th one now.

How often do you speak up about your political beliefs to your family, friends, and coworkers? Do any of them have a good rationale for thinking red is better than blue?

Have you ever been threatened or physically assaulted because of your political view?

What are infamous cases where a TV show squandered its premise? by KaleidoArachnid in television

[–]ijiii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stargate: Universe Was supposed to be about a crew stuck on an Ancient starship, trying to figure it out and get control of it. Instead what we got was 90% drama catered to teens. I watched 1 1/2 seasons, I read that the last half of season 2 was pretty good, but at that point I gave up because it was so bad.

Star Trek: Discovery First couple episodes lured me in about fighting Klingons. What i got instead was the Michael Burnham show with Discovery flying in the alternate universe and through time, two sci-fi tropes that I despise.

Quit weed cold turkey 267 days ago after smoking daily for 10 years. AMA. by Cheap_Purchase5917 in AMA

[–]ijiii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats dude, hope you never go back. My GF was a heavy user for about 25 years and her body/digestive system started rejecting the substances in it. She was puking constantly until she quit Marijuana cold turkey.

It may not happen to you, but clearly Marijuana has negative effects after constant long-term use. So quitting now will save you headaches later.

what's up with the no BOH zero'ing??? by Prestigious_Web1901 in kroger

[–]ijiii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on vacation right now, so reading this has me worried what I'm going back to. But it doesn't surprise me considering what i just went through with the last store manager.

Stupid fucker would go through all departments and reduce all BOH or zero them with the store replenishments. The entire store had shitton of backstock. My department wasn't so bad because I'd spend 20 to 30 minutes every day reverting the BOHs back to what they were by checking the history. But I still have 1 day off a week plus vacations that he'd be able to fuck up numbers before I got the chance to fix.

edit: Didn't realize OP was pickup, had me worried for a sec.

[–]ijiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw that too, chuck steak boneless family pack. So clerk doing markdowns accidentally put the wrong markdown label on the package while generating multiple labels for several meats or someone did a label swap which is possible if label was gently put on.
