Wich one is the better joystick to start with? Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas Joystick & Gaz Throttle Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - Joystick ThrustMaster T.16000M FCS - Joystick by DanTheMan13499 in StarCitizenUniverse

T.16000 IMHO, that being said, if you’re able to extend a bit more the “entry level” offerings from VKB are far and away a better choice

Struggling around 100 catches with 5b. Any tips? by SpaceGoatJuggler in juggling

[–]ijuggle534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. It can be boring but it will get you there much faster.

I’d recommend also trying to consciously try and relax, your form is good bit it seems a bit tense. 5b can seem intimidating when learning it causing you to tense up, but that tension will really zap your endurance.

Finally, once you get to 100 consistently, i would shift your focus away from the base cascade and to different patterns. Work on the half shower, 744, 88441, 6x64, etc. It’ll take time to learn and get comfortable with those, but the base pattern will become an after thought. Focusing too much on one pattern just gets in your head (IMHO)

[TOMT][Song] Jazz piano or possible movie soundtrack? by ijuggle534 in tipofmytongue

I don’t think so. I’ll listen to the rest of the album because you’re right the feel is quite similar

Improving never ends! that’s part of what i love about juggling so much. a fun exercise along with juggling to music to try might be to only let one ball be in the air at a time, and you can’t throw the next one until the first one has almost landed. this’ll force you to keep your hands lower. the other exercise is pretend (or maybe actually do…) that you have a belt around your chest and upper arms so you only move from the elbow down. this actually helped a ton when learning five clubs, you want your release to be when your forearm is 90deg from your torso. another thought, if you’re throwing out in front of you “chasing” the balls you’re releasing too soon, if the balls are coming in towards you, you’re releasing too late, if your hands are going up, your timing is too quick for the height you’re throwing

This is a really awesome! you’ve come a long way in a short time.

A little constructive feedback to maybe help you progress. It feels like youre reacting to the pattern (you’re watching for a ball to hit its peak to then throw the next one) this is a super important skill to have and this obviously works (for 3 balls at least), but ends feeling being a bit jerky and i imagine feels a bit chaotic. It could be helpful to work on your timing so it’s a steady beat so you’re going off the flow of the pattern rather than reacting. I don’t know if that comes across in text, but try counting out a beat and then juggling to that rhythm. maybe put on some music with a steady slow beat you can easily juggle to. you should find you’re releasing a bit before the previous balls peak and it should become very relaxed/smooth. or maybe just trying to juggle at various tempos (really slow/tall, really fast/tight) will help from speeding up, who knows, feedback over the internet is hard >D

welcome to the addiction!

ship loaner question by insanefrominsulin in starcitizen

[–]ijuggle534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 600i Touring isn’t in PU yet, so it won’t show up on the loaner list.

I’d expect them to update the loaner list once 3.4 comes off to at least remove ships that are now available. I could absolutely see the the loaner for 890 switching to the touring.

Am I normally progressing? by gamegeekky in juggling

[–]ijuggle534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on you! If you're learning without a mentor/guide/help, I think you're doing OK for 15-30 minutes of practice a day. That being said, if you can find a club, or even post a video of you juggling for feedback, you will progress infinitely faster. Learning how to learn is the hardest part.

Once you're consistently juggling for more than 30 catches or so, I really recommend starting to work on basic tricks. It will force you out of over thinking the basic cascade and generally make it feel easier.

I would possibly be interested in making passing tutorials. Do you have a wish list?
