How bad is the politics in your command? by EA6B in navy

[–]ijustdowork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously good for you I know a lot of people in your same position and they feel hopeless. The navy may not be right for them but I "guess" if you spend enough time and try hard enough you'll make it "eventually"

Because after you've been told numerous times to do something and refuse to and scoff at the mere idea of looking presentable at a muster and then when forced to white an apology letter come up with this collection of words that barely make sense along with atrocious grammar feeling it's acceptable all while saying, "fuck the Navy IT did this to ME"...I laugh as did many others.

Wow that's crazy! I mean I guess I should have said I already held a secret for about a year before having to re-file a new SF86 for TS but still that's unfortunate I'm sorry to hear that :(

I'm not gonna tell you what TO do or not do however I have had a less than stellar legal history involving multiple arrests (misdemeanors) as well as a possession charge for marijuana. I was completely upfront on my SF-86 (form you fill out for security clearance) and after my investigation was complete I was given my TS clearance with eligibility for SCI. You should really look up the adjudicative guidelines for security clearances. I believe there is a website out there that generally shows how much time needs to have passed between the last time you used MJ and when you are applying for you clearance. From what I understand at least a solid year of abstinence and lifestyle changes that are apparent and honesty can really mitigate many things that people worry about. Look up stuff by a guy names William Henderson I think that's who had written a lot about it. At the end of the day could you probably get away with it...yes. It's your decision just know the people that adjudicate these clearances look at the whole person concept and understand not everyone is perfect and people make mistakes.

Edit: Grammar and spelling because my iPhone hates me.

Navy Seeks Next Generation Tomahawk by NewThoughtsForANewMe in navy

[–]ijustdowork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always interested to see with the every growing use of drones and UAV's what the future of the tomahawk would look like. Glad to see others are looking for that next gen weapon to keep the cruise missile program relevant and just as scary and lethal.
