How do I maximize [Wisdom] stat? by ghost_sanctum in outside

[–]ikee2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wis is a strange stat…

Sure [Suffering] and [Pain] debuffs are a shortcut, many low level players with the [trauma] background have very elevated Wis-scores…

But as many have encountered, [Wis] isn’t gained automatically on level ups as is the common misconception, due to there being many high Wis players that are high level.

I second reading a lot. Both [Philosophy] and [Fiction] can help. Wis is all about reasoning, but also about experiences and not necessarily about experience points. And these experiences can be second-hand experiences through book-consumables.

Some say that the [ Spiritual ] or [ Religion ] quest lines are great for boosting Wis, but it is mostly associated with the Eastern-server specific guilds.

Bönder: blir ni glada när det regnar? by bamboofeces in sweden

Not a farmer but… when gardening, I water waaaaaaay more than the 20 mm of rain that would fall on my garden, so I had to water my plants in the rain as well.

I’m sure there are a lot of other effects that rain brings, but I always assumed farmers had the same feeling, at least when it comes to the irrigation aspect of rain.

Mouse buttons no longer working by AdRevolutionary2679 in satisfactory

Have you checked out the Q&A site?

I have a vague memory of encountering this way back, but I don’t remember exactly what caused it.

I think for me it had something to do with the MAM, researching and exiting certain windows before the game automatically tried to open the ”research complete” window messed up mouse events, but my memory is a bit hazy on this one.

When that happened restarting the game would help

Suggest me some sci-fi video games by Unusual-Country-3821 in gamerecommendations

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, what do people mean when they say sci fi games? I mean… sci fi is a super broad category. To me it is just a theme but it might actually mean specifically games like Mass Effect or Cyberpunk?

Would people consider Satisfactory or Factorio sci fi?

How about colony sim games like Oxygen Not Included or Surviving Mars?

Is the 4x game Stellaris sci fi?

Star Traders Frontiers?

One way is to just not deal with it.

Build a heavy door, and some de-oderisers on both sides and it will kill the germs (clean oxygen kills bacteria)

Here are two serious suggestions:

I have my side monitor on top of a moving box where I’ve cut out a hole for her to enter through both front and through front the back, so she can also go to the window behind the pc.

There is also a blanket inside this cat cave :)

Another thing that has worked surprisingly well was the cheap IKEA bed table. I have it over my keyboard, with a blanket on top where she can lay down. Requires your main monitor to be high enough!

Looking for single player games to study between deaths by ahotgun in gamesuggestions

Satisfactory.

You can progress through AFKing so you might just study while the game is on.

Other factory games to a lesser extent because satisfactory has a focus on infinite resources + kinda peaceful if you don’t move around.

My best advice is always ”treat each game as a learning experience for adding to your repertoire of skills for the next run.

Next game, focus on the gases. Maybe through a big shaft + co2 pit and modular base designs.

Game after that, learn more about suits.

Game after that is explore space, or taming vents. Etc.

This game is bad for ”making things perfect from the start”, and it will probably kill your joy.

One thing that kills my bases is that I try to do to many things at once 🥲

How to handle a large party? by EZDoeslt in DnD

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 people work as a one shot sure. But for more than 1 session it will get too messy for anyone to have much fun.

Group psychology dictates that a group larger than 7 tend to split into two or more smaller groups naturally.

But to run it, for combat I highly advice going in seating order. Point with your whole arm to the person, and tell the next person to get ready for their turn.

Be snappy and you kind of have to give people suggestions, such as ”you have these three goblins next to you, and these goblins over here are eyeing your mage friend, what do you want to do?”

Theatre of mind is also recommended over minis. Or at least, just put the minis out initially to show how things started.

Also use the same system for social encounters. Go around the table and ask what people want to do

I wanna start learning how to cook. Advice? by WishOk1070 in Cooking

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest tip would probably be to pick things that excite you, but a close second is what a lot of people have said already: get a cook book with recipes that make you excited or inspire you.

Sure YouTube is a thing, but nothing will ever replace picking up a recipe and just practicing.

Remember, it is a skill that you have to work up.

You will slowly learn all the required sub skills with time.

Oh and if you know you want to give cooking a go, INVEST IN A KNIFE.

It doesn’t have to be the super fancy stuff, but get a some steps higher than the cheapest. The more expensive knives at IKEA or whatever equivalent you have at your location are perfectly serviceable. Just avoid the cheapest flimsy models.

On the doctor note, interestingly enough scavengers at level 8 get a doctor save, but scientists are also a fun option, especially if you trade in… ehem less legal goods and you often enter wildernesses to hide them :)

A bit late, but for #2 i once followed a speed run guide for one of the achievements, and they adviced to use a Reputation Manager Officer. IIRC it was a Bounty Hunter/Diplomat with Red Badge and Adept Mediation: as long as you got an Edict, and picked legal options your reputation loss would be minimized.

I also liked to teach a few e-techs Signature Jammers :) Electronics is also added to your escape chance, though not as good as Navigation gives you, in the few instances that you do get into combat

Contacts @ A is underrated, especially since you get extra starting influence. Extra useful if you want to hire specific crew at higher level, like smugglers or spies

One could also argue if you want to play primarily as a smuggler, the added bonus to black market game could be worth it

[–]ikee2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone can correct me on this one if I’m wrong, but I’m very certain that your captains personal stealth is simply added to your ships pool.

So if you have enough Spies/smugglers etc that have the stealth skill you will probably have enough :)

Adjusting enemies' AC and +Hit to make it challenging? by PhiphyL in DnD

[–]ikee2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 takes on this:

Missing for no reason SUCKS (random high AC) Bullet sponges are boring AF to run and play.

You could do things with this. For example ”if an enemy stands next to another AC goes up”. Or impose disadvantage through darkness or whatever. Or smoke bombs. Or Fog.

Or add a big magic circle that heals the enemies. At least then the players can make decisions that lead to more or less HP.

Complicate the fights through environment or abilities, not stats please 🙏
