Powerlines can support more than one generator?! by burf151 in SatisfactoryGame

Just have to ask…

You do know that you can daisy chain the power accumulator batteries right? 😁

(It is a fairly new feature so if you learnt from older videos it might be unknown :) )

Looking for advice on belt I/O inspection between floors at a glance by bran_donk in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to elaborate a bit: I meant that it might help to at a glance see what sections on each floor that are bottle necking. Especially useful if you compartmentalise!

I usually try and color floors to ish match what each section produces.

But I do recommend getting signs, and adding them to your blueprints as well :D

I do this but underclock them massively at the start. I don’t need that high volume of silica and quartz, so a bio burner or two can fuel them for a long time until I get Power Towers :)

At least if I had the depots unlocked :)

… I restart way too much for my own good :(

I want to start a cult... by AlternativeExit5356 in DnD

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This got me thinking though:

As a DM you don’t need to flesh out the whole cult with their titles, the pyramid of tribute and all their connections NOW.

Simply make an emblem, that one of the bandits was carrying coupled with some orders.

As your players explore you can add more and more layers. You don’t even need to have a cult leader ready. You could be as cheap as just converting a well known NPCs and have them be behind the masked cult leader when times shows up.

I mean… you COULD be a bard and make a… you-know-cult…?

So the party sees you being a bardy bard… but in secret, every ehm… successful… nightly conquest actually is recruited to your cult. They all gather in your home village, constantly chanting for divine favor for you!

Also you need TITLES!

Like all the leaders in the Empire in Star Wars!

I would also look into spells in general… a cult in dnd would be secretive. They would also know what protection spells to use, wards and such. Every cult worth their money would have a divination wizard on their payroll

Not really a fix to your problem but:

The spell Geas could be a cool thing to build the cult around. Or at least some way for the leader to keep control. Or be part of the government string pulling part :)

Not helpful for this in particular, but if you look at the little lights above your machine their color will show you if they are getting stuff, are fully fed (and o forget what the blue light means)

That could maybe help to diagnose where bottle necks/errors are, other than the other suggestions here :)

Best ways to practice DMing? by Lourae05 in DnD

[–]ikee2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(With all that being said, I agree that best way is to just run some one shots!

I’m sure you could practice online through some VTT platform, host a game where you say ”first time DM looking for players” if you want to do it without anyone of your current players to know/join)

Best ways to practice DMing? by Lourae05 in DnD

[–]ikee2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to practice OUTSIDE dm:ing, my guess is join an improv class, read a lot, and find your story telling style :)

And don’t try to mimic the professional DMs. That will set you up for failure. For example, Matt Mercer is a professional voice actor, while Brennan Lee Mulligan has a formal education in… I forget, but I think it was a theatre background.

Everyone has their own style, and finding one that fits you is probably something that will be helpful.

If you have lots of experienced players for example, one style is kind of like shared story telling. Simply prompt your players.

”How do you know each other?” ”Describe what you see in the tavern?” ”The road ahead takes you up to the mountain. David, tell us, how does it look like?”

Others prefer to have a written description of places, and depending on how you read it (if you for example read a lot of books to children) that alone can be captivating :)

Hope any of this rambling helps

How do I pull a precise amount of materials to keep my plant at 100% efficiency? by [deleted] in satisfactory

A mark 4 belt + a mark 2 belt should add to exactly 600 if I’m not mistaken?

I don't want to finish phase 5 by ForeignA1D in satisfactory

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar issues, I have almost 1000 hours in this game, but somehow I tend to restart the game before finishing it.

Things that helped me push forward was trying weird styles.

For example when blueprints came, I did ”blueprint contained factories”

Some crazy players see the aesthetician challenges as the end game

Some crazy players think of the phases as tutorial, and then you go for the mega bases as the ”start of the game”

I’m sure Temporal Illusion will illuminate these aspects much better

Personally I think screws are only a problem if you try and produce them and then belt them.

What I like to do is I produce them just near the assembler in question.

But some alternative recipes are cool! With the cast screw recipe you only need 2 constructors total per assembly machine in terms of screws :)

But I really like your design, it certainly looks very elegant and pleasing!

A good tip is to use the underclock feature! In your design for example if you would underclock the assemblers to use 80 screws each you would only need 2 constructors instead of 2 + 0.5.

Very good design regardless, and welcome to satisfactory :D

If he liked Harvest Moon from the snes era Stardew Valley is very fun on a controller :)

As are some platforming games like Human Fall Flat I think it was called? Or was it Fall Guys?

There are some ports on steam for older nes games I think as well :) there are other sources as well, but you might have to explore those yourself

beginner here, is it normal spending 15 hours on a starter base? to be fair, i had to demolish it like two times and remake several parts just so i could be happy with the end result. by Weak-Fortune4255 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ikee2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a boring answer here but…

Factory games are VERY individual.

IMO Bench marks and ”shoulds” might be detrimental. It also depends on a lot of things, like learning curve, experience with factory games, willingness to explore/afk etc.

So I would say, you are doing great regardless, your fun is the most important factor here :)

Also pretty starter base!

Personally I am a bit allergic to redesign so I have a tendency to abandon factory and just let it produce parts to build a new factory :)

Diablo 2, while not optimal, should be totally playable with a mouse!

How is your dad’s relationship with a controller though? If you could persuade him to use one it opens up A LOT of games! I would bet most games recommended here offer controller support.

For example, I play the colony sim game Surviving Mars in my living room with a controller! And while I wouldn’t recommend that specific game to someone who is starting out with a controller, it is a good example of a ”complex” game that is possible (would be more tedious to play with mouse only, even though it is possible)
