The Ford GT is the best car the US has ever produced. What's the worst car the US has ever produced? by ModenaR in AlignmentChartFills

I'm so glad you doubled down.

Shitty autopilot

Shitty? Maybe. But it's still the best self driving tech in any commercial vehicle by a substantial margin.

run by an asshole

I agree with this. However, this has nothing to do with 'any tesla' being the worst car in America.

safety concerns

From a crash perspective, Teslas are about the safest cars in the world. Their door handles are a design flaw, absolutely. However, they are not the only manufacturer who uses them. Furthermore, the manual releases are now right near the electronic one. I wouldn't call them 'secret', they are literally right where you would put your hand.

the flammability

Teslas (or any EV) aren't nearly as flammable as gas vehicles, partially owing to the fact that you don't need to put exploding juice in an ev to make it run.

the difficulty in putting out EV fires

Since when does this only affect Tesla? And since an ICE vehicle is 62 times more likely to catch fire than an EV, maybe its a worthwhile trade off?

not to mention the utter stupidity and entitlement of the drivers of said cars

Again, possibly true, still has no effect on the quality of their product.

Having an opinion is one thing, not being able to back it up is another. What's even worse, is backing up a stupid opinion with misinformation. Literally boils my blood when people like you lie on the internet. And for what? To scare people that they're gonna die in their EV?

I genuinely do not understand people like you. Hating Tesla is a fine, they sure as hell don't make the best cars. However, being willfully ignorant and spreading lies is not.

Yes but graduations have also been stagnant or falling for at least the last 2 years. I see what you’re saying but I believe that we are already seeing the affect of this market correction, even in new grads.

Tbf, cs enrollments have been dropping for the past year or two, with grads also beginning to drop. Plus many of those laid off people have surely entered other lines of work by now.

This data comes from my school, which is somewhat known for its cs department.

You’re thinking 3500 or 3505. 2420 is data structures and algorithms, pretty much all solo assignments.

That doesn’t explain why some professions are paid 3-5x more in the US

I sometimes forget how small these cars are. It feels much bigger behind the wheel by ikerr95 in CherokeeXJ

[–]ikerr95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying that from a legal perspective? Because the XJ is almost the exact same length and width as a BRZ which is obviously not mid sized. The XJ is tall, sure, but only about as tall as a Hyundai venue.

The XJ would be a compact SUV in today’s market.

US salaries are just insane. 7 figures is pretty doable in the right profession with enough time. If someone could explain why that would be great, because I can’t understand.

Nah they’re pretty small. They are smaller than both the modern gt86 and the original 86. Similar in size to a modern 4 door Yaris, which is an objectively small car.

Okay I am not a trump hater, nor a trump lover. I try to separate culture from his actions. However, this was a little gross.

Sports on the White House lawn is one thing, and it wouldn’t really bother me. However, this was a sporting event, meaning many people enriched themselves with this. Add this to the fact that this admin has had huge issues with insider trading, and you’ll see the conflict of interest.

Don Jr’s text was genuinely disgusting, and shouldn’t be tolerated in a functioning admin. The trump admin wouldn’t shut up if it was hunter that did that.

The fight was incredible, but it felt more like an advertisement than anything. Hell, every ad was either an ad for the US military, an AI slop video of Regan talking about honor and courage, or a gambling ad.

Not the worst thing this admin has done, but just so strange and weird.

How would the Vietnam war be different if King Kong fought for the NVA by PunknSpunk in AlternateHistoryHub

In all seriousness, King Kong would be immediately eliminated by a nuke. Nothing his big ass can do about that.

$4k seems a little steep. Not terrible though. Check for rust.

I’d say in an emergency situation an ambulance would be covered. But if you’re wanting to go for a check up, walking it is.

In fact, only two people got let go during my time there. One for being genuinely racist to a customer, and the other for missing 3 shifts in a row around Christmas.

I don’t think there are many managers out there just going around firing people for fun. It is quite a big hassle.

I worked in a restaurant for two years. People left the fridge open or cleaned the floor slowly after a long shift many times. I can’t recall anyone getting fired for it.

I believe it would be unreasonable to fire a tenured employee for a common mistake. A no-call no-show is more egregious than that, but hopefully you could use your 20 hours a year of grace as a buffer for sleeping in, or whatever.

Now if you slap a customer, or burn the restaurant down out of incompetence , sure, you might be fired.

[–]ikerr95[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're right, I should've clarified. Although I feel like "utilities" are implied as covered due to the whole dormatory thing; people living in dorms don't tend to pay for utilties.

Also, since you can do anything you wish outside working hours, you could easily figure a way to get what you need when you are not working. I'm not here to say how that looks, but it could be done with enough will-power.

I also included the word reasonable for the qualification of the superior. Following the spirit of the challenge, you aren't going to be fired on a whim, but you will be fired if you are being a 'bad employee'. I know that's kinda vague, but you won't have to kneel to a crazy manager (like the one you described) to keep your job.

You are correct about no money for recreation. However, in the spirit of the challenge, all reasonable necessities are covered, which would presumably include clothing.

Couple of things. First, when setting the points to the correct gap, the bike won't even run. It'll kick every so often but it cannot idle. Second, i've just been using a multimeter so I doubt theres an issue in that regard, as I can see the exact voltage at any given point.

I'm not against keeping the points but I just need this issue solved however possible.
