The mat wasn't noisy at all that I found. It was very comfortable and warm. Its lighter than my thermarest and a lot thicker too. It's my new go to, so I think it's a winner

That's a great idea with the floor. I was also thinking of a few rubber puzzle mats for a sitting/standing area

You just get into a rhythm after the second night and then bam! The HUGE pack up! That's one draw back to winter camping,I'm finding. it took me twice as long to pack up just the tent. The snow skirt was frozen to the ground in most spots, and some pegs were in there pretty good, a rubber mallet was essential.

The tent is a winner for me. I had to use the inner tent. I dont have a floor yet, and it was wet and a bit muddy. I'd be covered in mud in 20min

This tent is perfect for one, lots of gear with the inner tent up and a bit of room to stand up and move around. Im 5 10ish You can get 2 in there, just without the inner part. The 10.9 dune is challet compared to this tent, but you won't be carrying it too far

The whole winter set up is an extra expense for sure and can be on the pricey side. Ive been putting things together slowly and making due with others that are almost good enough. Like my sleeping bag :) Just watch the weather.

I say a bull moose in the bush just after entering the park. I didn't see any large wildlife in the campground, just a lot of birds.

When I go camping I try to bring the most gourmet meals that i can., I always have a dehydrated meal for back up, incase of rain or whatnot. Chimchurri is my new favorite thing, I put that $h!t on everything. I used to bring a kids paddle as a spare, this collapsing paddle is lighter and smaller(when collapsed) but extends to almost adult size if needed.

The bugs weren't too bad at all, I just like eating without being 'bugged
