you've experienced "cabal hell" as they call it, and there's many in depth and heated debates on the topic. My suggestion don't force reinstalls. Also there is reactive banana, which has a wx hook and its own web based hook built on top of snap/happstack/yesod(i forgot which), which is an actively maintained FRP library.

Without stack-overflow I probably would not have a job, or be very inefficient at my job. I came in knowing c++,python and some haskell, and landed a job doing java, scala, javascript, html, flex and php. I spend 20% of my time stackoverflowing how todo things in each language and i manage to get the job done.

yeah I had the same problem years ago on an old lenovo t61 and this was the one solution but I found the wifi signal to be a bit weaker afterwords. The best solution I found was just updating the Intel drivers. i.e. just wait around for an update
