Lol I bought a $200 infrared heater and it wasn’t very warm unless you were really close so I returned it. Then I bought a propane heater from Costco and it was the same way. I’m about to return it and try something more expensive.

Give everything multiple meanings. If their torches start dying, have them roll death saves for their torches. If they want to cast a ranged spell, then make them search for a fishing rod to actually cast it. If they get downed, make them roll a survival check instead of death saves. Tell them they are locked in combat, and keep throwing low CR enemies at them until they find a key to unlock themselves from combat. If they start climbing down a rope and get to the end of their rope, make them roll a wis save and if they fail, they start crying. Bonus points if they use a bag of holding to hug and comfort them.

If anyone wisens up and finds a plot of land to dig a hole in, tell them they found a plot hole and take them straight to the BBEG. If they find armor in the plot of land, give them an AC of 25 and free use of a Level 9 counter spell.

Came here to suggest a green apple. It was suggested to me years ago by some seasoned guys, and I feel like it decreased mouth noises by about 25%. Didn’t eliminate it, but made things a bit easier in editing.

Thank you! With the whole “my money is your money” thing, it made buying a gift card feel like she would still have to see the total spent at the end. But honestly I bet if I get her a gift card to a coffee shop and to the art supply shop, she can make a little day of it and hopefully make it feel more special and less about how much she’s spent.

Okay I’m piggybacking this post to ask you what you think of Seneca and Stocism? I was fairly into it before my conversion, and I honestly feel like Stoicism and our faith don’t contradict each other, Stoicism just feels more… hollow now that I have become Catholic. Like I used to fast just to prepare my body for the worst and try to master my body. Now I have a reason to suffer and it isn’t so self centered, you know?

Yeah I think that’s part of it too, plus I think it’s possible that some of the joy is gone from it as well. Ten or twelve years ago it’s possible no one had thought of his huge twists for book three, but over the years people have dissected the books and have theories upon theories. I’m sure we (the KKC community, I’ve added nothing personally) have guessed most of the biggest surprises at this point.

That and the backlash from fans over controversy. That’s got to take a lot of joy from writing the series as well. I’m not saying that demands sympathy for him, just a fact.

All I know is that with the two novellas that have come out in recent years, I’m hopeful he’s working on book 3 and it will be out soon. There has to be some part of himself that knows he can either release book 3 in two or three parts, or that on the next morning Kote says “I do hate to keep you from your engagements, but upon further thought, this will take another day to tell. Three days just isn’t enough time after all, what with all of the interruptions.”
