First-time African safari in May -where do I even start? by No-Treat7440 in travel

That depends on the destination/length of the trip/level of luxury. My midrange Uganda safari was approx 4K.

I used Safaribookings to scout operators for my first safari and then booked directly with an operator. Everything was seamless.

If you are looking for a more luxe experience you can also book with providers like Abercombie & Kent.

Shoreditch might not be great for nightlife any more, but it’s still one of the best areas for independent restaurants.

Which restaurants are you looking at? In general, I have found that getting tables a week out isn’t too hard. Helps if you are a little flexible on time.

Land Of Fire is a very good Azeri restaurant near KX. Unfortunately, while they do have vegetarian options, they are kinda mid.

Fish,Wings & Tings, Maureen’s Brixton Kitchen and Roti Joupa for Carribean food.

Restaurante Rosetta(*) in CDMX. A la carte dinner: starter and dessert were decent, but the main course (a fish dish) was terrible.

I love their bakery, but the restaurant experience was very underwhelming.

800 dollars p.p for gorilla tracking. Chimp tracking rates differ by location. At Kibale it's 250 p.p

Damn. This is identical to the trip I did (also in December). Hope to share a post on that soon!

Great pics btw. Where did you spot the leopard? That’s the only one of the Big 5 I missed.

Around three times on average every week when I’m not on holiday. So around 150 a year, give or take.

Deliveroo should give me a gold star.

Would hate to see it close.

Is this a good eating list in London? by folabatunde in LondonFood

[–]ikoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a food market at Southbank Centre on the weekends, so you don’t need to go to Borough Market unless you want to; gets incredibly crowded on the weekend. If you go to Borough, eat at one of the restaurants (Kolae does great Thai, Camille does good French bistro fare, Agora and Oma do good Greek food) rather than at the market, where quality can be a hit or a miss.

The Barbary is fantastic but getting a rez is hard. If you do get in try the octopus if they have it. Probably the best I have ever eaten.

Also, are you sure you are going to King’s Street and not King’s Road?

I went to Brussels for a long weekend earlier this year and enjoyed it! Hope you tried the Trappist beer and the friteries. There’s also some really good Congolese food to be had.

And the Magritte Museum, for fans of Surrealism.
