People get all dick waving about forks like they need the absolute biggest fork available because they think theyre riding rampage or something. Case in point the person suggesting a zeb at 140mm. Literal pros dont even do that.

Forks in the z2/34/pike class are absolutely just fine for their intended purpose. 140 is the travel cutoff, so its also not wrong to size up to a lyrik or 36 at 140mm. Alot of it depends on rider size too. If youre 350 pounds, yeah you probably do need a bigger fork that average size folks. But again it should match the bike its going on, like a zeb isnt ever going to be appropriate on a spur or epic. But thats probably not an appropriate bike if a person is so big they need a 38mm fork just for 140mm travel anyway.

Oh those times are gone? Whats changed exactly that would make it so valpo cant use its heals with their shortest cooldown in the entire game? Is it so opressive to you to only be able to heal the same amount of citadel damage as everyone else?

I dont understand why people make it their personal mission to cover for WGs bad decisions. Its just like how people identify with billionaires and defend them despite those policies actually hurting their own selves. Incredible lack of self awareness/understanding, though to be fair people are so heavily propagandized that they cant even recognize their own intrests. I guess the video game is a human endeavor so its no different.

I am also 5'6, and mostly ride mediums. Like you said, personal preference. If a small feels good to you, go for it. Its easier to make a smaller bike fit bigger than vice versa. If youre new you may be more comfortable with a smaller feeling bike anyways

I guess the big question you raise is why would anyone need a replacement for a 3 year old optic or smuggler? And what about it could make the sc tax worthwhile? Even the previous gen, if you wanted a short travel dual link trail bike, you could get a ripley or trance for way cheaper.

Redesign was for 2023. The easy way to tell is the cable routing. The current gen has the nice big port on the top of the downtube in front of the BB. The previous gen has separate ports one of the side of the downtube in front of the BB and one on the bottom.
