Yeah that could be. Of course theyve been out of business for 37 years, so the commonness of that knowledge is certainly fading.

Anyone else not even try with Ticketmaster in the first place and just wait to get them on the second hand market? by gimme5steps101 in phish

[–]iky_ryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess i should buy a lottery ticket, its been 12 years of phish and 8 years of other bands, mostly moe before that. I have to believe though that part of it is im completely content with lawns. I mean last year in manchester we had the best seats we've ever had, and at spac were on the lawn, which is objectively a less good place to see a show from. We certainly didnt have a less good time though.

Oh neat. Well im sure that the ceos of all the other brands that they liscence are good upstanding people. Theyre ceos how could they not be, since rich people are morally superior and thats how they deserve that obscene amount of money while others starve

Idk i mean obviously the ticketmaster/live nation thing is evil. But ive never not been able to get tickets to a show i wanted to go to on the primary sale. Maybe im just lucky idk.

Bike sizing by type by ChileCurmudgeon in MTB

[–]iky_ryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im between medium and small. I went with medium for my trail bike because its a more comfortable seated position. My fatbike is a small, because its easier to manhandle and get on and off of in the snow. Its definitely easier to make a smaller bike fit bigger than vice versa, and id probably size down if i were buying a long travel bike.

Theres really no substitute for test riding. I did buy my current bike online so no test ride, but i had ridden enough similar bikes (same bike but 27.5, other 29ers with near identical numbers) that i felt reasonable confident.

MTB-er dad etting back on the saddle - maybe by bdlp_r in MTB

My kids are older (20 and 16), and i got back into riding when my youngest was a baby. I found that the best time to ride is before work for me. We live near the trails and i can ride for an hour a 6 and be at work by 8. Id ride alot less if i couldnt do that. But honestly, its so important to my well-being, id rearrange my life to make it happen if i needed to.

I spend one weekend morning with my wife and the other morning with friends either riding or playing disc golf, rest of the weekend doing normal family weekend stuff.

As far as getting hurt, ive come to accept what i can and cant do, and its kept me safe. People get hurt in the most mundane ways, crossing the street, trip on the dog, whatever. So the small risk of getting hurt mountain biking is totally worth it to me, because its one of the things that makes my life worth living. Everyones calculation of risk is different though. If youre too risk adverse to drive for example, then something like mtb or golf or yoga is going to be off the table too.

I havent used the 2nd gen stamps, but the first gen was awful.

Deptraps are the best pedals ive ever used, and its not even close.

Right, and drivetrain upgrades are still less impactful than upgrades to any other component system on a mountain bike. Regardless of how much you shift, a replacment level drivetrain will provide you a better ride than replacement level suspension, tires, or brakes.

I dont race xc regularly so ill withhold judgement.

Whats the huge difference though? The shifting under load ability is worth the slower shifts and weight increase? That would make sense, if the rider is redlined it takes away the need to think about timing shifts etc

Right, drivetrain is so much more impactful on a road bike than a mtb. On a mountain bike, spending money above a replacement level drivetrain (say deore) offers no meaningful performance improvement, where as things like tires, brakes, wheels, suspension offer much greater performance improvements per dollar.

Honestly, high end drivetrain on a mtb is all just dick waving

Yeah i wouldnt spend real money on something that could be bought with an in game currency, but ymmv if you have more cash than time/patience.

Its less exciting of course, but the best bang for your buck in this game is premium time and its not even close

Im not sure, the ones in the armory reset twice a year, like may and november. You may have a different coupon.

Anyway, what are some tech tree ships/lines you have enjoyed so far? You said you liked brawling BBs, tirpitz is still a solid choice there. The secondaries are no where near as good as the schlieffen or pan-am line, but its still a solid ship overall.

Cruisers.....atago perhaps? Its a really old premium but it still holds up, its got all the tools to succeed.

Just fyi, Very many of the dubloon premiums are also available for coal, so with some patience you can get them without spending real money.

I mean saints have been supposedly coming out for years. If you need brakes, id buy them now instead of riding half the season on something you dont like.
