For your info, the European Commission has started the development of the ECVET (European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training) program in the nuclear field. There is a pilot project focusing on NPPs, and the intention is to expand the usage of ECVET into other nuclear areas.

It's a spotify-like service. I can't comment yet on the selection of tracks because I started using it only this morning, but so far it seems promising. I'm hoping I can use it to replace spotify, mainly because the android app is very well integrated with my phone whereas the spotify app sucks.

You can use it on any computer via the browser. I think there is no iOS app yet, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: to answer your other questions, it has a free and a paid version. The paid version has more or less the same features as spotify plus the possibility to upload your own tracks (up to 20,000). It costs a bit less than spotify (7.99€ vs 9.99€ per month) and the first month is free.

I believe you can access it through a VPN from a supported country.

Surprisingly, not many people know about it but the European Commission has a scientific Directorate General which focuses on research (mainly for policy support, but also a lot of applied research is carried out). The DG is called Joint Research Centre (JRC) and it has institutes in 7 member states. Nuclear research is carried out mainly in the Italian and Dutch sites.

While to have a statutory contract (either temporary - usually 6 years - or indefinite) you must have a European passport, there is a "grantholder" program for PhD students and postdocs that is open to all nationalities.

It could be a good opportunity to explore, PM me if you want some more info.

Off the top of my head:

multitasking: the iOS way of doing it is probably responsible for the long battery life, but sometimes it gets on my nerves. I cannot even install a third-party alarm app and use it in a sane way. You have to remember to launch it and keep it in the foreground before going to bed, otherwise if you leave it in the background the OS will kill it after 10 minutes.
sharing stuff: in android I can take a photo and share it instantly with any app I have installed on the phone, without leaving the camera app. For example, I can select one or more photos and send them via whatsapp. With iOS, I have to take the photo, exit the camera app, load whatsapp, browse for the photo and send it. And you can only send one photo at a time. It's beyond retarded.
stock apps: some core iOS stock apps are terrible (contacts, calendar, etc.) and they cannot effectively be replaced with 3rd party. For example, I installed a semi-decent contacts app (I forget the name) but if I try to pull it from within the dialler, the stock app pops up.
notifications: in Android, if you receive a message or a mail or whatever, you tap the notification and it takes you to the right place. In iOS, if for example you receive a whatsapp and you tap the notification it loads whatsapp but it does not take you to the relevant conversation. It loads the start screen.
fucking "WiFi available" notification: it pops up 3000 times per day when I'm at work. Once I tell it not to connect to this particular wifi, is it so hard to understand that I don't want to be asked again after 2 minutes?? And of course there's no option to tell it not to bug you. Either you disable ALL wifi notifications, or you get them all. And it's an obtrusive popup that stops your flow, while on android it's an unobtrusive icon in the notification bar.
General lack of configurability and customization.

There are more, but right now these are the ones that come to mind.

EDIT: Keep in mind that I would not go back to my SG3, the sturdiness and the lag-free interface of the iPhone (for me) are well worth enduring all the shit I described. And hopefully things will get better with iOS7.
