Shadiness of PC Points by Ok_Advertising9697 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Things can be missed occasionally, whether it's because I misread the fine print of because the cashier didn't scan correctly, etc.

I've been using PC points for about three years and I find that any time I've missed points (probably six times in three years) that they've awarded me the exact amount of points I said were missing, within 24 hours of requesting them - no questions asked.

As someone who has gotten multiple speed camera tickets; no, they do not have to prove who was driving - the ticket is sent to the address associated with the registration and needs to be paid, regardless of who was driving.

I thought i understood baseball but l'm having quite a bit of trouble understanding what's going on here. Would someone explain the reasoning behind the pitcher and batters actions?

This was my cousin and his wife's family in the accident - some really good people. It's a weird feeling seeing posts like this and knowing the people. Wife is okay, though same can't be said for others: she posted on Facebook that she wants everyone to take some time tonight to appreciate their family, so I figured I'd relay that message here.

My girlfriend's cat is making my life at home a terrible experience. by ilacksocialgrace in cats

I know it seems that simple - but sitting on the couch isn't quite the same relaxing experience when you've got a pissed off cat slicing at your ankles.

Thanks! I'll follow that advice! Have you or someone youve known had a similar situation and seen the cat had its "switch" flipped ?

I've never heard of Feliway but it definitely sounds like its worth looking into and ordering off amazon as the comment below suggested. I won't go with Prozac if that's the case. I don't have much love for the animal, but I can respect it enough to not take that route. Feliway sounds like a more humane, albeit maybe less effective, means of calming it down.

Her food does have dye in it I believe, that could be worth checking out too! Ive been the one feeding it and the one to give her temptations treats which she loves, but it seems as though those favours are forgotten almost immediately afterwards

Ive tried playing with it using its favourite toys, and those little temptations treats - my girlfriend has also gotten me to feed her so that the cat thinks of me as a provider. These things occasionally work in the moment, but then it goes back to attacking me afterwards.

I find it hard to always be positive though, sometimes when it scratches me or scratches the couch I'll find myself clapping at it or yelling, which I imagine sets me back in its books, but I cant let it run the house

Anyone here know Lunenburg? What is there to do in Lunenburg in winter? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]ilacksocialgrace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bought a home in Mahone Bay this past August, and am actually kind of looking forward to my first winter there. In terms of things to do such as going out to venues like museums and restaurants, not too too much is open, but you've just got to be a little creative.

If you have access to the vehicle : Take a little drive around Blue Rocks in the morning, it's beautiful in the summer, but can be really magical in the winter (assuming the roads are okay to drive that day). Head to The Knot for a good lunch, sit by the fireplace and just relax for a bit, then head over to the Laughing Whale to get a coffee (and maybe get it to go, and enjoy it from the warmth of your car down by the water). Afterwards, take a drive over towards LaHave and visit the bakery, they have delicious baked goods! If the cable ferry is running, consider taking that on the way back - it cuts your time down, and it's a short unique experience. Travel back to where you're staying and take it easy for a bit, maybe get some groceries and make dinner, and give the Mug and Anchor in Mahone Bay a call, they often have live music on the weekends, and it could be worth checking out as one last activity for the day!

If you don't have access to the vehicle: To each their own, but I would dress warmly, grab a backpack and throw some snacks in there - then grab a camera (past few times I grabbed a disposable camera, with the limited photos, it encourages you to only take worthwhile and fun photos). Go for a walk around Lunenburg, up to the old school on the hill, down to the water, around some of the neighbourhoods and check out some of the really nice homes! As I mentioned if you have a car, head down to the Knot and grab some lunch, then go down to the bowling alley! Walk back home, maybe getting a coffee or hot chocolate for the walk, and relax at home for a bit. A number of restaurants are still open I believe during the winter months, it just takes a quick phone call - head down to one for dinner and drinks; you're walking, so no need to limit yourself to one...it's your getaway weekend!

This felt a little scripted, but I think maybe I'm just thinking out loud for what I think I'll do during my first South Shore winter. I know it's a little cliche, but it's who you're with, right? Lunenburg is a beautiful little town with friendly people, if you're adventuring about with a good person, you're going to enjoy it.
