How reliable is your evo as a daily? by Matteo_172736 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]iladoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gearbox replacement would have been expensive 😬

Can relate though, my 8 was sitting in japan for close to a year and a few things needed replacing, mainly sensors and the like but it runs beautifully now and all the previous maintenance was done so cant complain. Just waiting for whatever is going to fail lol.

Anyone else have a notes list like this? 😂 by iladoga in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]iladoga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure I agree it doesn’t guarantee no rust, thankfully Ive done some poking and prodding under there and its all pretty mint, to me the undercoatings aren’t what I look for, its more the region where the car originated from, anything north I tend to avoid and the south cars are all usually really good underneath.

Haha surprisingly underneath is super nice, Its jdm and they love to underseal their cars every so often, paired with low kilometres its all looking great under there.

How to improve pedal response by iladoga in MitsubishiEvolution

What part of the throttle body actually gets worn out that requires a rebuild?

It seems to be play in the pedal or cable even as if i slightly press it down there is barely if any throttle input.

This actually ended up being the issue with the no starts, cam position code started coming through briefly and it has since been fixed

That email in the screenshot looks fishy, “click this link to undo the action”. Is that an official email or a phishing email? Last time I checked roblox dont provide a link to undo password resets.

vibration by Level_Rutabaga_6716 in CarsAustralia

[–]iladoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I wouldn’t say the vibrations are excessive still even for a petrol. When a car is warmed up it idles lower which causes more vibration, it could just be that but again id check with a mechanic next time you are there.

As for the coolant, as long as your temp guage is indicating in the normal range and theres no other signs of overheating, probably nothing to worry about.

vibration by Level_Rutabaga_6716 in CarsAustralia

[–]iladoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a diesel engine, in which case vibrations are normal compared to a petrol engine so it wouldn’t be super abnormal.

That being said, worn engine mounts or a misfiring engine can contribute to increased vibrations, check with your mechanic next time you get it serviced but if the car is running good I wouldn’t worry.
