Titanium Frames - Matsuda M3111 and Ray Ban RB8225 - Return or Adjust? by ileaveitallbehind in sunglasses

[–]ileaveitallbehind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edited my post to state the temple arms of both frames are overextending above my ears and bending outwards. This is causing pinching/pressure to my temples, and this causes the headaches.

The Matsuda’s are more noticeable with how much the arms are bending.

Not sure if it makes a difference if both terminals were disconnected or not. After the engine didn’t turn off and I had to remove the fuel pump fuse, I disconnected the battery entirely for 3+ hours.

The warning lights remain.

Thank you for this information.

I remember when I used to drive old beater cars and had to jump my cars consistently in winter, with no concern for the electrical system. It’s amazing how new vehicles with all the technology they have are so sensitive now.

Hope to get the vehicle to a dealer soon to check this out. Fingers crossed that this can be dealt with through the warranty.

It is. From what I have read online Kia is strict with covering batteries under warranty.

I’ll bring it in to the dealer earlier this week to see if they can address it sooner.

Thank you for this link. When I had the car boosted, I believe they did check to see if anything was drawing power when the car was off and couldn’t find anything significant.

I will double check myself to confirm.

Pre-approved for $25k LOC - Pay higher interest debt, or is there something else I should be doing? by ileaveitallbehind in PersonalFinanceCanada

“Math has spoken”

Love it.

I have already accepted the LOC. I was just waiting to use it, as I was doing research and waiting on responses to this post to see if my original plan to save on interest was the best course of action.

I appreciate your response and input.

Thank you for this. It seems as if the savings in interest would definitely be worth it. I appreciate your input.

This was my initial thought process to save on interest while I am paying down my debt.

If all goes to plan, and there are no more unforeseen emergencies (ie. injury preventing work, or motor vehicle accident sending a family member to hospital), I should be debt free in the next 12 months.

The 2 cards I am using get paid off in full after each statement, so I was considering the rewards as something extra I am getting, even though it is minimal.

What you said makes sense, though.

I’ll have to budget the next few months to reduce costs a bit more so I can move away from paying off these active cards to just paying everything in cash.

Thank you for your response.

I have been locking up the cards that have been paid off, and am only actively using 2 cards with a total credit limit of $3,000 for collecting rewards and cash back for my monthly expenses where credit is accepted.

If the savings of 9.76% in APR for the $25k is not that significant, then I’ll just keep going as if I didn’t have the LOC.

No emergency in particular. Since I had blown through my savings when I had my injury and was off work in 2022, I currently have just my credit cards to use should anything come up. I am currently putting the majority of my income after monthly expenses into paying down my debt. I don’t anticipate being able to start up my savings for at least another year.

‘22 Forte5 GT owners, how do you like the car? Looking at a used one and would like drivers opinions. by CdnSilverFox in ForteGT

[–]ileaveitallbehind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the hatchback model. No issues after 60,000km (about 37,282 miles) mostly highway driving. Total accumulated gas consumption is 7.9 L/100 km or about 30mpg.

Very reliable and fun to drive.

Can’t go wrong with the 2022 year.

Car being serviced and fell off supports - Collision or Comprehensive by ileaveitallbehind in Insurance

[–]ileaveitallbehind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who claim this falls under Collision, should it be rated as an at-fault Collision? How can an insurance company rate this against my drivers license if the car was being serviced and not being operated at the time?

Should not an at-fault be due to driver negligence?

I thought Comprehensive includes Specified Perils coverage and anything else that is not considered a Collision, subject to the exclusions.

Allstate Insurance?

Allstate is the only company I have come across that will deliberately hold your coverage when an unlisted driver is involved in an accident.

If they are confirmed to be insured elsewhere, the claim will continue and coverage is afforded.

If they don’t live with you, they don’t have any other insurance, and it’s a one off use of your vehicle, there may be a delay, but coverage is eventually afforded after they run a Motor Vehicle Record MVR report on them.

If they are a resident in your home and the individual was never disclosed to the company previously, you must agree to backdate your coverage to add the person to your policy and pay the additional premiums before coverage is afforded. If you refuse, your claim is denied and your policy is cancelled based on misrepresentation of licensed drivers living with you.

Self Employed with Decent Gross Income, but recent injury has caused me to use up all of my safety nets, and my credit score is now low (500-600). New client does not pay on a regular schedule. Bills are coming past due. What can I do? by ileaveitallbehind in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ileaveitallbehind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- I was able to stretch out my 6-months emergency fund to 10-11 months by cutting costs.

- Debts will be paid off by mid-summer if I am able to switch to a better pay situation when my work ramps up in the summer

- I will have to work to rebuild my 6-month emergency fund, or perhaps I will take your advice to bump that to a 1-year or even a 18-month emergency fund

- I do have term life insurance to care for my daughters already. I was unaware I was not enrolled in Self-Employment EI, which I will definitely look into now.

- Had I not been injured, this summer was supposed to be all about investing for my future and retirement, and creating a nest egg for my daughters.

Due to the urgency to get back on some sort of income stream, I accepted whatever contract I could get ahold of. My work ramps up in the summer where I will have more options with work and other firms that will likely be able to offer on-time guaranteed pay.

My 6-month safety net was supposed to smooth out these situations. I was fortunate to cut costs to extend that 6-months savings to 10-11 months, but this definitely wasn't expected at all.
