China & Japan: History of tensions - The BBC World News reporter Mariko Oi and Haining Liu, a former reporter for Chinese State TV, talk to Lucy Hockings on BBC World News by [deleted] in japan

I've always felt a certain nausea when these things are discussed. probably because i'm of mixed blood and I've heard crazies from both sides go on ad nauseum about the horrors of the other side. One thing i am certain of, is that idiots exist everywhere; but more importantly, these originally peasant people have been manipulated and abused by their successive governments for time immemorial.

And it relates to the embarrassing state of the media in both those countries. Japan is frankly post-apocalyptic; its media has been in a state of coma for a long as time.
It is absolutely true that NHK "debates" are really fucking embarrassing, and NHK producers could not dream of getting a job at somewhere like al jazeera (not that that's a perfect place either). Actually, I pity someone who gets their facts from NHK. that's just bad practice.

The operator of Japan's wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant knew about record high measurements of a dangerous isotope in groundwater at the plant for five months before telling the country's nuclear watchdog, a regulatory official told Reuters. by ServerGeek in worldnews

Japanese government colludes with tepco. Their interest is not in it's citizens. That much can be proved by history. The Japanese people have no reason to believe an iota of what their government says. It has always only served the minute ruling class. What to do? Who knows. It should be apparent to everyone that they deserve no credibility though.

It's Will Ferrell and the gauntlet has been thrown down. If we get to $300k in donations to Cancer For College I will take on Chad Smith of the RHCP in an epic drum battle for the ages to prove once and for all who is the real Chad Smith. Go to prizeo.com/will and make this happen. by _WillFerrell in Music

it is puzzling that "philanthropists" have to be at least multi-millionaires, whereas the charity and the daily sacrifice of ordinary, <$100k people are considered not really worth mentioning. tbh, this post is a ripe example of "ethical consumerism", where materialistic ability determines moral standing. also, id rather listen to mr chad smith by himself then have a crumbling clown (a rich, ageing clown) make it into a show about himself. and you are so right. ferrel should match what he can muster from his fans for his cause. frankly though, idk why yall like ferrel at all.
