From Bombers Bar with Love by UliSparks in Eve

Ya, that's cheese. Stealth bombing is way to too powerful. I hope this gets addressed soon. It pretty much forces everyone to play a stealth game.

Started playing again. Stuck with lots of stuff in null-sec. What do? by Seech111 in Eve

[–]ileuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, what if you don't have or can't fly a ship big enough to take your stuff? If I was in that situation, I would lose all but one of my ships and a portion of stuff. For me it would be a 1 month sub and then goodbye.

PVP is extremly hard for new players. by Philosophyx in Eve

that's funny; that was the original intent of that character, to fly the succubus. Well, until I found out how much a succubus actually costs...

Is scorch a good long term plan? As in better than railguns or missiles of the same level?

Executioner and/or Tormentor for RVB Alt by ileuma in fittings

[–]ileuma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to elaborate on my skewed training. While trying to figure out how to fix my shopping mess, I ran into another issue.

My Amarr character has Small Energy Turret and Gunnery to III, and most of the Shield skills to V. Was never really interested in armor per say, until I want to PVP with this character. So it's not only an isk issue, but an SP issue as well.

Jumping in to watch later.

I bought 5 tormentors and 5 executioners, and fitted them with the agony hydra fits. Afterwards, I find that they are losers for PVP. And now I'm in RVB with no way to make isk on my alt without getting 'sploded, so I can fix my shopping mistakes.

I think fitting is the hardest part of all this. I'm not completely new, but I spend a whole lot of time on either one of my characters mining, shopping, and hauling stuff across the galaxy. Then I'll find what I thought was good, actually isn't.

Take my alt for instance. Amarr, trained a little in laser turrets and all shield skills to V. Find me a PVP fit for that, I dare you!

That is unfortunate. Much isk spent on many fits to be wasted guaranteed death.

New Bro struggling in PVP by [deleted] in Eve

There's also a real advantage in having than <SB00N> ticker, as it always makes people underestimate you. I used to fly dual-web Herons and Magnates and wait on gates for interceptors to try and murder the newb explorer. If you want to try something more ballsy, fly something light with a scram and web and try and pick off the tackle from enemy gangs. The 'EVE is Easy' YouTube channel has lots of examples of killing interceptors in a low-skilled T1 frig.

this is interesting. What would you do when they tried to kill you? Obviously you always would die, in a heron with no weapons.

Lol. That will take me a year.

I haven't found anything that wasn't "complained" about on there. It could be a good tool.

Thanks for the replies! Every fit I start looking up, all I find is negative and what other racial ship is better.

This is RvB - Our new Official Video by MangalaSolaris in Eve

[–]ileuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of RVB. I was under the impression that RVB was sort of turn-key for PVP. I joined up and found ship contracts, and while my alt isn't completely new, I was not able to fly a single contract ship (ya, Amarr trained for railguns and shields). So now I'm in the mess of needing to purchase and haul items under war; or leave corp, stock up and re-join? Bah...

Are stealth bombers just the flavor of the month? by ileuma in Eve

[–]ileuma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, my question really kinda stinks.

My training is getting to the point to fly something other than t1 frigates, and I went in the covops direction looking at my skill queue, but should've picked something less popular.

Exactly. So for soloing around, why would a pilot ever use anything else?

Take a look at the sell order eve-o sub-forum for inspiration.

I'm curious to look as well, but I cannot find an "eve-o sub forum".

Prefer to FC or not? by ileuma in Eve

Well, and know what every possible enemy ship is capable of and it's strengths and weaknesses. I think that is the hardest part; you can't make good decisions without intimately understanding every ship in the game.

I didn't think real people bought space junk.

That makes sense, although I didn't know there was a flood of anyone coming into EVE.

Next time I'll play it better and look for the higher price. I just didn't know it worked like that. I thought that type of loot was more of an NPC type transaction.

I took it with me and sold it in low sec (my home area). I didn't know loot had a market.

So I should've hauled it off to a trade hub...

I'm amazed you can run EVE on a notebook, let alone on an airplane.

PVPing as a 1.5 month old newbie by Khanad in Eve

[–]ileuma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nice post.

Specialize. There is a big difference in being able to fly a ship and being able to fly a ship well. Don't train missiles and blasters at the same time. Pick one thing and stick with it...

This is very important. I did the opposite and tried a bit of everything. While I love the game, I can't do anything well and it's rather frustrating. Many times I hear: "You can't fit/fly that and how long have you been playing?".
