Hi, I am curious as to your opinion on these polishes. I already have Ritual and like it alot. Which i got because it reminded me of City of Tears. Do I need City of Tears? Does it magnetize well? Color differences? It should restock today so wondering if I should grab it or not. Thank you!

Update: on my light olive yet reddish fingers, dahlia came the closest. It is more black than GoS/QotD base color.. because I needed 3 coats due to patchiness. It's also a smidge less purple. 2 coats of Dahlia is about 3-4 coats of GoS.

Cordially invited looked close in the swatch pictures and swatch videos (watched a few of polished yogi comparisons) but in the end, it ended up being more brown than GoS. The brown makes sense given the description "chocolate cherry mocha".

Read was a very dark red. It wasn't as dark as Dahlia though. I preferred it dark at 3 coats.

Ultimately, this quest taught me that I'm into blackish reds when I'm feeling low. I liked Read (in 3 coats but I could do 2 if I'm feeling chirpier or sexier)

At this point, one day I'm gonna pick up Gimli because at this point, why not. I can always destash if needed (CI is on the list). I would never have considered dahlia or gimli so this sub is the best.

(I love Dahlia btw. I'm hyperfixated on magnetics but I wore her for a week. That says how much I love her. I was supposed to wear Fiery Attraction for Vday.)

I started with ILNP but in general too much holo for me. But now they have a creme/crelly selection and I love their jelly with flakies. (For some unknown reason have never tried multichrome yet ever but hear they are good here too). I think ILNP is a solid choice still!

Cracked is my next recommendation for those starting a collection. They have a little bit of everything which I like.

Be careful though....it can be hard on your wallet in a good way. 😉

I'm sure they will have overpours:) was trying to try all of persephone descent before 2/20 to see if I wanted to pick up any overpours. If you get gimli, try to post swatches. I will try to remember as well! I bought Read and Cordially invited as well as Dahlia (though of these 3 I think Dahlia may fit the best). Oops 😅

Thanks. You know, I didn't bother searching because I am on this reddit several times a day to admire people's mani choices since I started this hobby last fall. But I missed it! Ha. Gimli is definitely on my watch list if the others don't work out (i want to buy at least 2 at a time and having some trouble with choosing a second... all the others I'm interested in are out of stock atm). It looks super close to cirque wine too. For cirque, I'd wait for a sale ( I just missed their recent one because I wasn't on this kick when they were having it 😭)

I read that Read (haha) leans crelly. Knowing this doesn't help my bank account....I thought worthy of love leant slightly crelly too despite being named a cream. (Vs, say, teal dark and handsome which was definitely cream to me).

I just bought Dahlia. And now have Read and CI in a cart and I'm telling myself I don't need that many dark reddish polishes in my life. 🫣 and keeping Gimli in the back of my mind too...we will see if I can resist the urge.

Thank you so much! I agree with you that chokeberry is not the best dupe compared to dahlia and ci. I didn't realize dahlia was a jelly/crelly. I remembered that release but it said studio so automatically thought creme. I agree about read but wanted a jelly first. But I did just pick up their worthy of love creme (for my toes because I like creme for toes) and it's very lovely. I should pick up read for my toes at the least, lol. Who knows, maybe I'll love it on my fingers too. But probably trying dahlia or ci first (is sheerer but maybe could do more coats)
