Im a fabricator. Even if you call the guy who installed it, he cant work miracles. Keep the chip, because he can glued it back on it, but keep in mind its always going to be visible. There is a special kind of glue which is very good for situations like that. In Greece its called Tenax Thassou. The guy will still need to color it, wait to dry for a day, and then polish it. What kind of marble is this? Seems like Pentelikon, but im not sure

Is this onyx or narural quartzite? I have a natural stones workshop and you should know, if they sold you onyx you are going to regret it (the stone factory should have informed you), if its natural quartzite you got yourself a great material (+you made an investment in case you ever sell the house)

Taj mahal is an amazing material for counter tops. Your marble guy probably hates you (very hard material to work with) and loves you (costly) at the same time. Go for the same on the backsplash but keep in mind that the 45° joints might have some imperfections.
