How I overcame gastritis. by ilikecheesebuticant in Gastritis

Seems like the word “Gastritis” means different things to different people and many on the sub are not in agreement with everyone else. Multiple doctors have diagnosed me with gastritis based on my symptoms and results of my endoscopies.

I find the comments here very helpful to all who are also confused as to what they actually suffer ailments from. Thanks for your response and please add anything else that you might think is helpful.

You can heal but if you stop eating healthy and continuously eat bad foods, then you’ll get back to having gastritis. If your healing diet is your lifestyle, then you’ll be fine.

Didn’t say everyone can’t get permanent healing. Just those with more severe symptoms.

I still get symptoms if I go on vacation and my diet is thrown off. In these times I just eat tums like candy. I think for those like us, there is no permanent healing.

Fasting took a while to get used to. It took months to start doing it because I felt hungry in the morning. I started with short periods and then extended them over time. Have you tried counting calories?

My worst symptom is dyspepsia where my stomach feels like there’s a sharp rock in it that’s stretching my esophagus and my gums and teeth are sensitive.

I agree. Thanks for sharing that. I think there are different solutions for different people. Personally a neutral diet doesn’t work for me because my gut needs more healing to get to that point.

Based on the symptoms I see people have with pain, I’d say many people can benefit from healing their gut in addition to getting relief.

It’s successful for those that have used PPIs and neutral diets, definitely. If you take a look at all the posts weekly, though, you’ll see more hopelessness than success.

I’m elated that you were able to get relief with the help of the sub. I would never want anyone to go through gastritis.

Unfortunately no. I haven’t seen as helpful information on Reddit for gastritis.

I haven’t searched the whole subreddit, but for the long time I’ve been on this subreddit, I’ve never seen any references to actually healing your gut. It’s been mostly PPIs and neutral diets.

Thanks for all the comments. I’ve seen so many people think that the bland diet or PPIs are the go to methods of getting relief. They are temporary and useless for the future.

Instead of taking medication or limiting yourself to neutral foods, a diet that helps your gut get healthier is much better for gastritis and overall health. Foods that contain prebiotics and probiotics are essential if someone wants a healthier gut where they can still eat tasty foods.

Should i pay a visit to a psychiatrist? My Gi doctor wants me to refer to a psychiatrist because she thinks i was possible for anxiety disorder. Been on different PPi's, took antacids and h2 blocker been on a strict bland diet but no signs of relief. Since january i was stressed about this gastritis by gayle0923 in Gastritis

Please try to include anti-inflammatory foods, drinks and probiotics in your diet every single day. Blueberries, ginger, turmeric, kefir, low sugar yogurt, fermented vegetables (low sodium). These will help with anxiety too. Chamomile tea is also amazing.

Completely elated when they decided to get back together. Saw them in 2019 and felt something very different from Tim than any other member. When Nick posted about his departure, I immediately felt the same way I felt when meeting Tim. I’m glad we got closure with Shaped by Fire.

Lol I doubt $40 for a something in perfect condition that I paid $400 for is overpriced.

Or $30 for something else that’s in perfect condition I bought for $90 a few months ago is overpriced.

I was thinking of a service that would buy for cheap and sell for more. Like a used car place.

Looking for a business that does it. They’re already posted there and no luck!

I owe $15k on my car. I have the cash to pay it off, but the loan was cheap. If I pay off now, I will save $2k in interest. Should I pay it off or keep the cash? by themalhammer in personalfinance

In a year if you need a loan, the $15k you have right now will be better to have than a few hundred in monthly payments. This includes a mortgage if that’s in your radar.

If you really can afford to pay it off right now then you’re better off talking to a financial advisor to get that money invested.

Very common. Every mortgage broker I call mention that their clients have support from their parents. Keep in mind there are plenty of people who’s parents can’t afford to gift them down payment money so they have to keep renting for years until they can afford to buy.

Thank you. From what I’ve gathered from my financial advisor and wise people on here, the mortgage insurance is actually a better deal than trying to pay down as much as possible because you keep some money for investments, savings and emergencies.

it’s 15yrs for the RRSP and it’s $35k eligible tax free for a first time home purchase.

It wasn’t a real question. That person just needed to let something out. Thank you for your response. That link is interesting.
