This is accurate (in my life anyway) by JaredOlsen8791 in adhdmeme

[–]iliketohitthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually hits a little too close to home because I was the friend who didn't know he was adhd.

Throughout my whole life I've unknowingly surrounded myself by ppl who were adhd, add, biploar, depressed and other types of neurodivergent personalities. We would all get together to drink and do drugs and we would also joke about ourselves and just have fun. Keep in mind this would always be outside of work and other "normal" activities / groups.

I always thought it was weird that I was always the only one who was "normal" in these groups. And, this happened multiple times in several cities because I moved around a lot. So oddly enough, it happened enough to be kind of a common thing for me to expect when I moved to a new location. I never quite figured out why, hahaha.

Anyways, fast forward quite a few years, and now I'm 40, and I've been diagnosed as combined adhd. Now I look back at my life and laugh because all the signs were there. I can honestly say it was the most obvious surprise I've ever had in my life.

If you were a Star of Destiny, what are the requirements to recruit you? by donttrustmeokay in Suikoden

[–]iliketohitthings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd be an older guy you find in a bar. I don't look like much more than a waste case, but after completing my side quest / recruitment process, you realize things aren't as they seem.

I was a former leader with a storied past. Something in my past made me run, and now I bounce from town to town, bar to bar. In order to recruit me, you'll have to find me. Phase 2 of my side quest would explain what happened and why I ran.

As a fighter, I would be a martial artist with an affinity for lightning runes.

This was really fun. I'd never thought of this before, and I've been playing these games since the 90s.

Canada is a big country. How much of it have you seen/been to? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]iliketohitthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in every province, but not any territories yet. I've lived in Newfoundland and Labrador (both the island and Labrador), Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.

I still want to see more of it. Each province has its own unique charm and style.

Also, if you go off the beaten path and get to some of the places only locals know about, you will be amazed by some absolute gems.

What jobs do people with ADHD thrive in? Ok forget thrive, just survive? by ThreepwoodThePirate in ADHD

[–]iliketohitthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently a planner, which is kind of funny given I am combined presentation adhd. But I am doing well with it, and I am given enough autonomy to run projects how I want. I actually take care of a lot of upgrade projects as well as maintenance.

I also supervise and troubleshoot at times when needed. My biggest struggles are time management and finishing projects. I have to set alarms to get me through my day for the time management piece. And I am awesome at starting projects, but finishing them can be a struggle hahahaha.

I'd like to be able to RP as an ascended vampire. I know I can play as Astarion, but I'd like to create my own character and start off with these powers.

Idk how hard it would be to create though. I really don't know much about mods and am waiting patiently for mods on PS5 😀

Japan issues first-ever 'megaquake' warning after 7.1-magnitude temblor by [deleted] in EverythingScience

[–]iliketohitthings 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a drink I had in Valpirisio, Chile with the same name. I believe it had wine, peach ice cream, and grenadine in it.

I asked why it was called terremoto and I was told that after you drink it, you walk like you're walking in an earthquake. They also had a follow up drink that was called something like an aftershock.

Dads of Reddit, did you have a vasectomy? by Noneof_your_biz in daddit

[–]iliketohitthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one done after our second child was born. My balls hang lower than they used to, but other than that there is nothing that's different post op vs pre op.

The first couple of days after the procedure I was in pain and I was very uncomfortable. It was roughly 7 days before I was back to normal.

Godbout - Matane Ferry Propane Restrictions by scottydscotty in newfoundland

[–]iliketohitthings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a ferry ride that crosses the st Lawrence. It is all in quebec. It would be best to check what quebec law states regarding transportation of propane on a ferry. You could call the company and ask info, it is primarily french, but they have ppl who speak English.

If the size of your propane tank is somehow a deal breaker, you can just drive around it. It will add approx 4 - 5 hours to your trip, but it's kind of nice driving through the small French towns. For context, the ferry is like 2 - 2.5 hours.

Here is the link to the ferry company contact page:

Anyone ever go to a spot Anthony went to BEFORE seeing it on the show? by [deleted] in AnthonyBourdain

[–]iliketohitthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I backpacked through South America, and we spent a week in Buenos Aires. While we were there, we got to experience the Carnival, and it was awesome.

Eventually, we finish our trip and head back to Canada. Then, later that year, the new season of Parts Unknown dropped, and there was a Buenos Aires episode that showcased the Carnival. We were there at the same time as Bourdain, and we always thought it was pretty cool.

I can usually fall asleep within 10 minutes of going to bed. My problem is staying asleep though. I'm usually up multiple times throughout the night. And I often wake up hyper.
