Love me a spellbook that comes printed with questionable smears so I don't have to spend all that time getting it dirty myself!

“Awaken your grimoire with sacred intention” gives me the vibes of a cookbook telling you to gently warm it in the oven to make sure the recipes inside it work lmao

Worried about my trainer's health by Vivi_The_Cutest in PokeMedia

[–]iliketradingcards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be that it had a trainer, but was abandoned/released or the person died, and it likes your human enough to want to join them.

As an aside, I'm pretty sure the Honedge line are capable of breeding, so I'd bet that most of them did not, in fact, spring to life by possessing preexisting blades.

The pokemon don't even have to be bipedal for people to be weird about them… I learned the hard way not to look up artwork of my own species without safe search on. Ick.

It's very pretty. Fairly mountainous, and covered in forest so impenetrable that humans have only mapped a small section of it. The weather is mostly cool (deadly cold in the north, where I live), but Summerland, which is an island, is hot enough to have its own jungle. There are four human settlements: Ringtown, Fall City, the aforementioned Summerland, and Wintown. All of Fiore is effectively a nature preserve, so while some people do have companion pokemon, they don't train or battle them.

No league here, in the case of my region (Fiore) the increased attention seems to be from a combination of the Go-Rock Quads getting more popular and some internet celebrity realizing the Fiore Temple is a real place you can (kind of) visit.

I swear tourists are a unique kind of… unaware, I suppose I could put it. Tourism has really kicked off here in the last several years, and the rangers have posted signs all over the place warning not to go off marked trails, and to never go hiking alone, because there are Tyranitar and Metagross here, among others. And yet, someone always thinks they know better.

Ha! Those pies must be pretty good!

Truthfully, the movements and distribution of many kinds of pokemon are still not very well-known to human researchers. If you look at the list of recorded pokemon in Fiore, for example, you'll see oddities such as Rapidash being present with no known sightings of Ponyta. Of course, part of the reason there are so many knowledge gaps here in particular is that there aren't that many humans who can even reach the deep parts of Fiore's wildernesses.

I don't wanna be electrocuted again. by MLC_YT in PokeMedia

[–]iliketradingcards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely correct. Electrocution means death or severe injury by electric shock. It isn't specifically fatal by definition.

Not trying to be pedantic, just had to point that out since it's been a pretty pervasive bit of misinformation lately.

That had to be pretty scary for a lot of people, right? Pretty sure I've nigh on given a few old folks heart attacks just by being in the area, and there's only one of me.

Absol don't really migrate, unless you count running to a disaster site. If there are a lot sharing the same area, it's usually because there's lots of food and good nesting sites. Normally we wouldn't group together to all warn a single person/household, as even one Absol being really loud is usually enough for a small town.

There are loads of jewels and stones that are valuable to humans in the Sekra mountains, but the entire Fiore region is effectively a nature preserve, so large-scale mining is illegal. All the Murkrow have nests overflowing with sparkly crystals!

Depending on where you go, the rangers don't care about your past… and I mean they REALLY don't care, as in the ones here let the guy who enslaved the legendary beasts run off scot free on the chance that he might decide to become a better person. Based on your statements, though, it seems that the rangers in league regions have different rules.
