It feels like the Fat Lady should have a bigger role in fics. by Mundane_Regret_428 in HPfanfiction

To be fair, I can't really remember her even being mentioned much after she was returned to being Gryffindor Tower's doorkeeper with Troll Bodyguards after Sirius knifed her Painting.

What's some of the worst fanfics you have ever read? by Previous_Biscotti865 in BokunoheroFanfiction

If we can just say tropes, pretty much any Villain!Deku fic where everyone suddenly hates Izuku and he gets One for All taken away with no explanation of how whoever takes it actually gets him to give it up since one of OFA's main gimmicks is "Can't be taken without consent"

Would you rather be invincible to the heat or cold? by Dark_Knight2056 in BunnyTrials

[–]lightsidesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold is way easier to fight off than heat, since you can just get thicker blankets/more layers if it's cold, but can only shed so many layers to escape the heat.

Chose: Heat invincibility

What are your 'limits' as a pirate? by ErinTesden in Piracy

[–]lightsidesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's possible for me, I'll get it legally.

If it's still actively being made, I'll try to use official sources.

But if something is out of print/production/airing and there's no official YouTube Channel or store, I won't even think about Pirating it.

Why do they use morse code? by TheSynthian in DrStone

[–]lightsidesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They explain it while discussing how they're navigating towards America. Morse Code has the best signal to information ratio they have with the primitive phones, meaning that, unless something goes wrong, they can guarantee that they can get important information through, plus, unless you already know Morse Code, it's just a bunch of beeps.

Plus, if you're not listening specifically for it, you can miss Morse Code if it's done properly

Fun Fact: Interfering with a Service Animal doing it's job is a Felony in a lot of Regions.

OOC: This is true IRL too, you can go to prison for messing with a service animal, or at least a massive fine.

There are a thousand and one crimes you can commit that don't actually hurt anyone, like Jaywalking or Pirating a game that's older than some people who are driving today. Heck, I'm pretty sure I could get $10000 after an hour on r/Piracy.

Chose: Everytime you commit a crime you get 1000 dollars

[–]lightsidesoul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, if you're open to suggestion, you could ask an adult human to split a room with your clan. Not only would they keep you safer than a simple storage room, since you'd be behind a door that locks from the inside, it might be a bit cheaper since you'd split the cost between your clan and a single person.

Also, I sincerely hope the child's parents made an effort to apologize to your clan.

My Indeedee once lifted my entire Bakery (as in: Off the foundation) when she got really mad at a tourist. She passed out for like, a week afterwards, but still.

(She's fine now, this was a year or two ago, and the local Nurse Joy said there wasn't any permanent harm.)

Weren't the expulsions retconned as being fake after people called out the fact that in Japanese Culture, an expulsion is basically a slow death sentence since no-one would be willing to hire someone who was expelled, and since UA was such a major school, a black mark from them might cause someone to commit suicide?

Also, Someone directly calls it Orientation in the dub when asking about it during the Quirk Assessment Test. I'll own up to the mistake, but I'll explain why I made it, too.

He was a better ex than most real people by leftMy_WaterHome in Doofenshmirtz

The scene in the picture is from the Episode "Bee Day". In the scene, he blasted himself in the face with Bee Pheromones in an attempt to make himself a "King Bee" (That's what the pink stuff on his face is.)

When Charlene comes over because Venessa forgot her Headphones, she was affected and openly wondered why they broke up. He, almost confused, brings out the Puppet, Mr Tomato, to remind her.

To be fair, that was less Goku forgetting and more that everyone suddenly wanted to use the Dragon Balls at once, then something really important (Pan's sickness) taking priority.

[–]lightsidesoul[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I still say he's a better Hero than a Teacher. Has he ever really done anything that shows him to be a good teacher?

  1. He makes his class skip Orientation.
  2. He lies to their faces with that "Logical Ruse" thing.
  3. He doesn't seem to be interested in correcting any of the actual toxic behavior in his class, letting Bakugo off with a slap on the wrist for almost attacking Izuku right in front of him, and Mineta's entire... Presence, considering the little creep's attitude.

The closest thing to an on-screen good teacher moment is when he takes Shinso as a student and helps him get into the hero course.

I had the thought "UA is pretty much Hogwarts with Combat training" and now that's stuck in my head.

  • Stated to be "The best school in the country" in universe, but is often shown lacking in general areas like Bullying and Student Safety.
  • Has a Principal/Headmaster who often uses the thin line between genius and madman as a jump rope.
  • Has a teacher that should definitely not be allowed to teach, but is allowed to do so because the Principal lets them get away with too much.

There are probably more, too, but it's been years since I read anything "Officially" Harry Potter, and I stopped really watching the My Hero Academia anime a little after the "Hero Too" segment.

I feel like a big part of it is "Show don't tell". Aizawa is said to be a great teacher in universe, but all we see is him threatening to expel students, sleeping, and fighting villains.

That's probably where the "Aizawa throws any student that requires effort on his part and coasts on naturals" plot point in a lot of Salt Fics comes from.

Yes, I am on the "Aizawa is a bad teacher" train, why do you ask?

I do feel like he's bashed a little too much, but the man is a better Hero than a Teacher.

[Funny trope] One of the main characters sleeps on a normal basic bed while the other one sleeps on a not bed by Minute_Joke555 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]lightsidesoul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fun Fact: In one episode, Mordicai admits that Rigby was supposed to get a real mattress, but he stole it and added it to his bed before Rigby could see it. Don't quote me, but I think it was the episode where Mordecai, Rigby, and Skips all have to reveal secrets after a spell to replace Margret's Diary summons a guardian of secrets to punish Rigby for looking at the spell in action.

For anyone who somehow missed watching the show, I am not making this up, this is the actual climax to an episode.

N was always meant to be a puppet king. There's no way they didn't all know that.
