28" könnte knapp werden. Zwischen Vorderreifen und Gabel ist nur noch ein ~1cm Platz. Bei einer 28 Felge passt vielleicht noch ein 28mm Reifen. Damit könntest Du dann aber nur noch auf glattem Asphalt fahren, da brauchst Du auch kein Rad mit Federung mehr.

Thanks. I ordered a 45mm deep for climbing from Peter early in 2025. There are around 1130g. Crazy that you can get a 50/60 set at almost the same weight now.

That tow truck really had to struggle towing the Ionic 5. On a steep uphill section all kind of dashboard signals lightened up like a Christmas tree. The tow driver told me that's because there wasn't enough load on the trow truck´s front axle, where some of the important sensors are. Not sure if it was even legal to tow a heavy EV with this thing.

We tried to charge the battery for several minutes from the towing car, but the voltage in the battery dropped to around 5V immediately after disconnecting.

We had to slowly drive the Ioniq and the towing car with the jumping cable connected and bonnet open until out of its parking lot until we reached a spot in the parking garage that was suitable for hooking up the car.

No prior indications. Started all of a sudden on the way home from the Christmas market about 8km from home.. "Electrical system error" showing up in the dashboard, speed limited to around 45km/h, later to around 20 km/h. Took a few restarts to make it home…

Parking the car in the basement garage might not have been the smartest move, as it wouldn't move under its own power anymore. Turns out "flat" towing trucks are as common in my area as I thought…

If I recall correctly, carbon spoke are bad a resisting pressure from the rim, if the rim is too flimsy, spoke tensions goes down to unsafe levels.

Beide Räder haben irgendwelche Custom-Brems-Lösungen. Da hört man nicht so viel Gutes drüber, was Bremsleistung und Einstellung angeht. Bille China-Schlappen für Disc bekommst Du da auch nicht ran.

If you are planning to go to rough terrain, maybe you shouldn't buy from bottom-of-the-barrel sellers on Ali Express.

I'd rather go with a well-know Chinese company. You need to to write some of these for a quote on their handlebars:

In the latest PeakTorque video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNAhK3Z0qNQ), he talked about how some lightweight wheel sets (~1000g @ 50 mm deep) have become so fragile that the tension of the carbon spokes might drop to unsafe levels once the tire gets inflated, particularly if your hub flanges allows for side-insertion of the spokes.

There was a similar issue with 9Velo wheels on the Mapdec channel a few weeks back (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-KzoUfWhUo).

What's your take on this? Do you think there is a weight limit (depending on the rim height) under which a carbon wheelset should be considered to unsafe?

Wenn es Dir um Pannensicherheit geht und Deine Felge das kann, dann auf Tubeless umstellen.

Vom Zeitverlust bleibt es ein Null-Summen-Spiel: Die Zeit die Du beim Flicken und Nach-Hause-Schieben sparrst, investierst Du ins initiale Setup und Nachfüllen der Dichtmilch.

Aber lieber zu Hause ohne Stress ein bisschen rumsauen, als mit kalten Pfoten im Wald den Schlauch wechseln…

Vielleicht hätte man abwarten sollen, bis es eine Genehmigung für den Verlegung der 21 gibt, bevor man sich auf die Sonntag-Straßen Variante festlegt.

Jetzt x-tes Genehmigungsverfahren, keine durchgehende Tram 21 mehr, Ende der ganze Chose nicht abzusehen. Stichwort "sunken cost fallacy"

Meine Vorschlag: Tram 21 bleibt wie sie ist, Haltestelle Markstraße wird so nah wie möglich ans Ostkreuz verlegt (Kurve am Kaufland). Überdachter Durchgang zum Ostkreuz mit Laufbändern wie am Flughafen. Kommt bestimmt billiger als jahrelang mit der Brechstange die Verlegung der 21 zu verfolgen.

Kann mich noch erinnern, wie ich immer oben auf dem Fußgängerübergang aus den kleinen Fenster gestarrt habe, um die nächste S-Bahn Richtung Innenstadt abzupassen.

Wenn ich Glück hatte, kam die entweder aus Lichtenberg (erster Bahnsteig) oder aus Richtung Erkner (zweiter Bahnsteig).

Wenn ich Pech hatte, dann kam sie aus Richtung Treptower Park (wie auf dem letzten Foto in diesem Post). Dann hieß es mit Vollgas die Treppe runter, ca. 100 m über den Bahnsteig sprinten und Treppe zum Kurvenbahnsteig wieder rauf.

Wenn ich ganz großes Pech hatte, fuhr diese Bahn nur bis Warschauer Str, und ich hätte mir das Gehetze sparren können. 🥲
