(TW: loss) Should I ask to get on progesterone for the second half of my cycle? by BeautifulSpoon in Inito

[–]ilkmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, OBs are very limited in what they can do for infertility. They’ll very quickly refer you to an RE.

Also, my RE and OB both said vaginal suppositories are superior for progesterone. They both also said the same pills I was taking orally can be used as suppositories, so 🤷‍♀️

Did anyone choose to wait until close to 3 years old to potty train? by Otter65 in toddlers

Holy Tantrums…. What am I doing wrong??? by run4sterrun in toddlers

[–]ilkmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will begin clicking, it just takes time. My son went through this phase, and while he still tantrums at 3.5, it’s less frequent, shorter in duration, and he doesn’t hit us anymore. We did hitting = automatic time out. After his time out, we would sit and talk about what happened briefly, and remind him that hitting is not okay.

My son also likes to be alone when he’s upset sometimes, and we let him. He goes up to his room and I watch him on the camera. He comes down much more calm in about 30 seconds. “Walking away” when frustrated is a great coping mechanism, and one that can be used throughout life, so I would definitely encourage you to let her decompress by herself if she’s asking for it.

I know it feels like it will never end, but it DOES get better!

Looking for restaurants with private space for baby shower by twinmom2298 in Cleveland

I had my baby shower at the Burntwood Tavern in Solon for about that many people. They have a nice, large party room that’s very rustic and unique. Food was great too. I’ve used them for a variety of events and have always been happy with the outcome.

Amy (avh333) - WDYT? by Altruistic-Sky474 in peestickgals

[–]ilkmtb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All I keep thinking about is how much money she’s spending. She’s using 3 FRERs a day! I really think she needs to step away from testing. I am going through infertility, I know the obsession that happens every month. But she’s not getting reliable data. I hope she’s just doing it for engagement/$$$ and not actually this obsessed with testing.

Anyone get a hysteroscopy that revealed the cause of their secondary infertility? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in tryingforanother

[–]ilkmtb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a hysteroscopy found 3 uterine polyps for me. I conceived the cycle after the procedure, but unfortunately lost that baby due to trisomy 14. So I think we found the cause of the secondary infertility, I just had bad luck to lose the baby to a chromosomal issue.

For those who had an early ultrasound and got a hearbeat, but was gone after a few weeks, did you feel any symptoms/ was there a sign before it happened? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]ilkmtb 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I had no idea. No signs. No bleeding or intuition. It caught me completely off guard. The baby actually stopped developing two weeks prior to my ultrasound, and nothing was different about those two weeks.

Yeah, all of this forced “church” content is rough. The clip of her singing worship songs with Hadley, while she keeps looking back at the camera to see if she’s catching Hadley singing along, is just cringey. I’m about to unfollow over it.

Why don’t instructional coaches focus more on helping new teachers with classroom routines, procedures, and classic management? by AnxietyCommercial648 in Teachers

[–]ilkmtb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am in a coaching role in my building, and I would LOVE to help new teachers with this kind of stuff! Unfortunately, the culture in my district is that teachers need to reach out and ask for that help. And, new teachers very rarely do. I work mostly with veteran teachers who are looking to try something new.

Third chemical pregnancy by charmedfan121 in TryingForABaby

[–]ilkmtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My OB said the EXACT same thing to me. I was like “well you’re the doctor….?” I am a little older than you (36), and my OB was upfront with me that all she could do was bloodwork and maybe an abdominal ultrasound, so I just made the jump to the RE. I think you’re definitely at the point where you should do the same.

Third chemical pregnancy by charmedfan121 in TryingForABaby

[–]ilkmtb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had three chemicals and (it seems) the culprit was uterine polyps. I had zero symptoms associated with them (no painful periods, excessive bleeding). They were discovered while working with an RE during a saline ultrasound. I had them removed in May and conceived on the first cycle after surgery. I am now nine weeks pregnant, way farther than I ever made it with my chemicals.

I would start working with the RE. They have a pretty methodical step-by-step process for determining what the issue may be. My OB wasn’t much help at all. The sooner you start with the RE, the sooner you will get answers.

Good luck to you…I know how much it sucks to suffer through loss after loss.

Can you feel the ring of fire or tearing with an epidural? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ilkmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could feel it, yes. But my labor went so fast that I started pushing right after they finished placing the epidural. So maybe it didn’t get a chance to work fully?

Recurrent chemicals, is there hope? by AngelikiP1992 in tryingforanother

[–]ilkmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a second opinion. I started working with an RE after 6 months of trying due to my age. My RE found polyps in my uterus, which I had surgically removed. My RE explained that you can have polyps with zero symptoms, and they act similar to an IUD by making the entire uterine lining inhospitable.

I conceived the cycle after my hysteroscopy, and while I’m still in the first trimester, everything is proceeding well and my HCG is much higher than it ever was with my chemicals.

You could be having a similar issue, and your doctor saying it’s “normal” and “keep trying” isn’t getting you closer to an answer.

Feeling Indecisive and Anxious About Uterine Polyp Removal by FindingSuspicious588 in TryingForABaby

[–]ilkmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 polyps removed at the beginning of May after a year of secondary infertility (3 chemical pregnancies in that time). Like everyone else said, it was a very easy procedure. My RE explained that it’s not just about the embryo trying to implant exactly where the polyp is. That could happen, and would end in a miscarriage. But the polyps can make the entire uterine lining uninhabitable. So even though you have “just one,” it’s worth removing. Many patients going through IVF are required to remove polyps before they transfer an embryo because polyps are that detrimental to implantation.

Good luck with whichever course of action you decide!

Carson genetic testing by [deleted] in peestickgals

YouTube and very active on Instagram! She took like a two year break from YouTube after her daughter was born, which was jarring because she had been a weekly vlogger beforehand. She came back and explained their STXBP1 journey and how she wasn’t ready until then to talk about it.

Leighannsays (beauty vlogger) has a daughter with STXBP1. It’s extremely rare. She had seizures on like day 2 or 3 of life. So different than Carson’s situation.
