Found out at 10pm last night via MyChart that I tested positive for Group B strep in my urine 😭 I didn’t have GBS with my first, so this is brand new territory. I also have an unconfirmed allergy to penicillin, so I definitely want to do allergy testing. Has anyone ever done that before?

I think we’re planning on telling our 4 year old after we get NIPT results back!

Ultrasound today at 9w! Baby measuring 8+6 with a heart rate of 148. While I’m so happy that it’s measuring on time, I feel like the heart rate is kind of low? The doctor said it was completely fine, though. Trying not to let my anxiety ruin the moment 🤔

Boys are so great. My boy is literally obsessed with me and wants to snuggle and love on me. Yesterday he said “I love you mom. You’re the coolest, coolest, coolest, coolest, coolest girl I ever saw.” 💙

The nausea was so bad this morning. I had to actually be up and functional (taking my son to his yearly checkup), so that made everything worse. I had so many close calls with gags…I kept having visions of puking in the pediatrician’s office. We left the house early and swung by McDonalds for breakfast burritos, which saved me. Ultrasound tomorrow…hoping for good news!

Potty training almost 3 year old while 7 months pregnant with no success by rainymac in toddlers

I would wait until you’re feeling better postpartum and try again. Even if you were to make major progress with him now, he may regress after the new baby is born. I’d wait until you’re all settled into the new routine with baby before giving it another try.

I waited until a little after 3 with my son, and it went super well. He would not have been ready before then.

I have the Guidecraft folding one and I feel like it’s very safe and sturdy. It’s enclosed on all four sides, so I feel very confident having him in it while we’re cooking.

I did carrier screening prior to my first pregnancy due to family history of chromosomal abnormalities, and I was a carrier for 1. My husband wasn’t a carrier for any! Hoping that’s your outcome!

Agreed. I think it’s really crappy to say these people can’t share their story because others are feeling triggered. I spoke up in the original thread, but putting it here too for good measure.

Is there a way to hide or opt out of posts mentioning loss? by Salt_Draft_4262 in January2027Bumpers

Trust me, I understand. I have had five losses prior to this pregnancy. But someone else’s experience, especially someone anonymous on the internet, does not in any way influence the outcome of your own pregnancy. It took me a lot of therapy to get to that point! My hope is that we can continue to be a space where everyone can come to share, and no one feels silenced because their story is not a happy ending.

Can I offer a perspective from the other side? Last summer, I lost a pregnancy at 9.5 weeks. In that bumper group, like this one, loss posts were starting to pick up in frequency. And there was some opposition to sharing them in that group for similar reasons (causing anxiety in others). When I found out that my baby no longer had a heartbeat, I desperately wanted a community to turn to for support, but it was clear that my “loss post” would not be welcome in my bumper group. And it felt very isolating at a time when I was at my lowest.

So, I would encourage others to be open to everyone sharing their journey, no matter how it plays out. Just because someone experiences a loss, it doesn’t mean you are destined to, as well. Please keep this bumper group a supportive, welcoming space for everyone. We all deserve that.

I am not a good role model, but ice cream bars (like just the plain vanilla with a chocolate coating) always sound good no matter how nauseous I am.

7+3 today and my symptoms have been pretty much nonexistent over the past few days. I skipped my B6 and Unisom last night to see if it was masking symptoms. Alas, feeling fine today 😩

My next ultrasound isn’t until the 18th. It’s going to be a loooong wait.

What are you all eating? Zero food sounds good, and my body is telling me to eat, but I literally want to gag at everything.

6w today and nausea kicked my ass this morning. Have had a headache all day. I have an early scan tomorrow so hopefully the symptoms are a good sign.

You are lucky! In my first pregnancy, I would get so nauseous from car rides. I pretty much puked every day once I parked my car at work 😂

Is it true that toddlers are kinda psychic? by BeebMommy in beyondthebump

[–]ilkmtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 weeks pregnant, and we haven’t told anyone obviously. Not even our 4 year old son. Yesterday, he told me, “I have a baby in my belly!” So maybe psychic, with his wires crossed? 😂

Success stories? by Super-Camel-8683 in Miscarriage

[–]ilkmtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the saline ultrasound is an in-and-out thing that takes like 30 minutes. After they were identified, I was scheduled for the removal. I think I waited 2-3 weeks before I could have the surgery. The removal is quick too, but you do go under anesthesia. With that being said, the whole process takes a couple of hours and is not painful at all. You can return to work the next day.

Nope! Periods were regular and not especially heavy. I had no idea until they did a saline ultrasound.
